Maybe it was always this crazy and more and more people are sharing their real thoughts on social media which can reach far more people than people’s views in the past.
Then you take the fact that people are reading more if this and that helps spread the crazy.
Yeah, I certainly think there's truth in that. It used to be that people would talk crazy stuff with their buddies at the bar, and it stayed in that small circle, now it's done on the internet for the world to see or hear.
For example, it really bugs me how things said by random people on Twitter become news. I don't even use Twitter, but every day when I read the news online I get news stories about what some idiot said on Twitter. It's ridiculous that some random nobody says something online, then it gets picked up by Yahoo news or whatever, becomes actual news and shows up in everyone's Google news feed. Now you have millions of people getting upset about something some random nobody said. Garbage is amplified online and affects people's perceptions.
