Official Monday Morning Olympic Discussion Thread: Men's Steeple & Women's 5000 Finals

avnlkkn

Stop acting like this was a super slow race that played into Hassan's hands. 14:36 in this heat/humidity is probably worth 14:10-14:15 in ideal weather. Hassan is just better than everyone else, hands down. She would have spanked Obiri in the 5k in Doha if she had ran it.

Also in February while Hassan was getting 3rd in a 8:30's 3k, Tsegay set the iWR in the 1500m (3:53). It's clear Tsegay peaked early. I knew she wasn't going to be able to carry this form all the way to the games.

This was Hassan's easiest race. Kipyegon will be harder, but she gets a rest day, semi, and another rest day for the 1500m final. I don't think she can beat a fresh Gidey though.
