You think Hull could run faster than 9:40 if she goes from 115 pounds to 140 pounds? That's like a 150 pound guy like Engels gaining 35 poubds and racing at 190. Maybe Ryan Hall can run 27:30 for 10k at his new weight. Cain is probably only 10-15 pounds above her previous race weight.
There's an ideal weight for each athlete to achieve their best performances and it's not simply the lightest weight they can get to.
