I always hear how Brazier never ran more than 40min, that he's never been an endurance guy more of a sprinter etc.
Yet he has a 15:25 5000m PR, set in High-School.
These claim don't sound right given this 5k time.
He's not a sprinter, that's how. Has he ever run anything under 400? I don't see any results.
He could put up a fast 5k if he focused on it, but it'd make him worse at the 800 so why bother?
If he would be a 400m sprinter (or have high ability) there is no way he could be that fast in the 800 and 1500m. Jeremy Wariner was a skinny guy, just like Brazier and his attempt on the 800m (not very serious, but still) was damn awful (1:53). He was considered THE 400m runner that might do the best in the 800m due to his skinny body shape. But still, he was just way too fast-twitch.
There is a MASSIVE difference between a long sprinter (200/400) and a middle-distance runner with speed (like Brazier).
