Drew Hunter will run an all-out solo 3200m TT on May 7 on a flat (no altitude) track. The faster he is, the more money gets donated to charity which is a good imitative.
His training went very well - 70-75 mpw in singles and lots of CV training and tempos (he ran 13:21 off of no Tinman tempos in the past).
His recent peaking session from a week ago was:
4x800 with 400 jog rest- 2:08-2:05-2:03-2:01
400 jog
4x200-27-27-27-26
5 min jog
2 mile tempo in 10:00
It will be his first race after coming back from a major injury. What can we expect? I think 8:20-8:30 is the realistic range we should be looking at.
The entire thing will be live-streamed on his Instagram. Drew Hunter is a multiple national HS champion who runs professionally for Adidas and Tinman Elite and is coached by Tom Schwartz ("Tinman"). He qualified for the World Championship in Doha last year but was unable to participate due to an injury.
