Legend sir.
Legend sir.
Here come all the jelly 115lbers.
Very impressive run !
Waiting for the jealous idiots lol
can't watch at the moment - was it ran on the track? if so, did he do the full mile or just 1600m? ;)
Proof? Nope, didn't think so. Just a photo of a GPS watch. He's a 3:@5 marathon runner and that is all until he proves himself in a race. He can possibly break 5:30 on his best day, but probably closer to 6:00.
Call marathon investigation and out him.
By the way, I ran a 2:02 marathon this morning. Give me a minute to grab my GPS watch and my bike and I'll post my result photo.
Is Nick Bare an 8th grade girl? Otherwise, not impressed.
Actually 4:53
Very impressive for someone 190+ lbs and in Texas humidity!
Link?
I'm not sure what to make of this guy.
He did a 5k time trial.
On a track.
And measured it with his GPS instead of using the marks on the certified track.
He managed to start at the mile waterfall start line
and stop 50 meters before the 5k line to end up 40 meters short.
On a certified track.
For his size it was a decent effort, but come on man, you are on a track.
His youtube channel doesn't have the 4:54 mile posted yet,
if he in fact did it.
Here is his 5:14 mile from a couple of weeks ago.
I just saw this on his Instagram story and follow his YouTube channel. I am very interested to see the course he ran this on. I would not be surprised to see it be net downhill. Not taking anything away from Nick as he is an incredible specimen and what he’s done as a runner at his size is very impressive, but he just ran a 5:14 mile PB a few weeks ago and for a guy that has run 50-70 miles consistently for the past 6 months it’s highly suspicious that he somehow just shaved 20 SECONDS off his PB in 3 weeks. No normal human has seen such significant jumps in a PB performance ever at the level he is running.
I’ll be interested to see his video on this to see the details.

While I doubt it's legit , is it sarcasm that I don't get?
No sarcasm. Do you know anyone who improved their mile PB by 20 seconds in 14 days while already running sub 5:20?

Yep
Well that's very impressive. I've seen jumps of 10 seconds before, but 20 seconds seems astronomical as it's a 5% jump in performance time.
I dropped 9 seconds of my 1500 in less than 2 months, and I was running much faster than Nick is .. so dropping 20 seconds off a relatively slow mile time is very possible

His previous mile was over 4 weeks ago and he said at the time it was badly paced.
I think he also mentioned he was going to stop lifting weights for a while, so that would make a difference.
Regardless of the time, the real question is why bother?
A fast mile has absolutely nothing to do with running sub 3 and getting to Boston, which is Nick's stated goal...I thought he had a coach? He's all over the place.
He needs to work on his endurance and his pacing and probably drop a good deal of weight too.
Unless he doesn't want to go sub 3 anymore and his goals have changed.

All your questions, and your meta-questions, are answerable if you actually watch the video ? Some of the asinine comments on here, including yours, are incredible.
My dude!
He definitely looks slim even with all the muscle he's noticeably leaner.
