You hate the ‘politicians’. Yet both of these ideas could only happen if the politicians tell the spectators to stay home.

The real question that needs to be answered is if Dave McGilivray gets to run in an elite only race to continue his phony streak.

When Toni Reavis is the race director for a race that has been run 123 times he might have some credibility when it comes to Boston. Until then, who is Toni Reavis and why should we care?

Not necessary. He can just run it in the dark hours after the real race or finish it two weeks later or whatever other BS decided this time around.

elite only race where all the elite are tested before the race and their bottles are set on tables and no volunteers pass out water along course

Elite only race where if they cannot get tested each runner goes off say 7 minutes apart in time trial event. If a runner gets within 200 meters of the runner in front him or her the runner ahead has to leave the course. So would have to have race officials on bike with runners and they would have to wave the runner if that happens.

Getting elite runners to travel to Boston might be difficult so that might limit elite field.

Okay, just allow the medical professionals that are "furloughed" to participate and most could allow 50 workers to tag team the race and not keep up with elite runners.

For the medical relay, I'm sure people will be thinking Whirlaway, pulling away, will take the medal. I see Tom's posted here, so he's going to say GBTC. BAA is always top flight, but don't sleep on cms with umass there.

The Boston mayor has cancelled all group gatherings, including road races, through Labor Day. It is looking less and less like the marathon will take place as planned in September.

The whole point of this lockdown is to take everything we love away from us.

Already North End celebrations in late August, the mid August Falmouth race cancelled.

Why?

There will be no school this fall and you can forget about camps or the beach this fall.

Why?

You can golf though
