Coach posted on an Instagram story. 8:03 3k (@ 5k pace), then 10x 400m with minute rest in 64,64,64,63,64,64,64,61. A hard workout in place of a race. (Coach is against time trials during quarantine)

Impossible. NCAA guys couldn't do it.
Isn't his pb 7:56?
Yes. Impossible workout . His coach has a tendancy to state things that can't be confirmed.

Or for that matter, things that can be confirmed as not true, like saying he’s a 9 time All-American at ASU.

Impossible? Why? He ran 7:56 indoors and has only gotten better, just because you can’t comprehend it, doesn’t mean it’s not possible. He’s a 13:30 guy right now. That session is 100% in his wheelhouse.
No way. Also, his 5k is not 13:25.
I would barely believe 8:03 TT. Better than his 7:56 where he just drafted.
This workout indicates close to 13:20. Nico at best can run 13:30s.
Why is his coach against time trials?
I find it hard to believe with workouts like these and other workouts by the NP that anyone on that team will progress in college. Their coach is doing them a disservice much like most of the teams that are on the podium at nxn.
7:56 3k equates to a 13:56, you could drop a couple seconds bc it was indoors but still... You don't go from 13:56 shape to 13:25 in 2 months, especially as hs senior.
The 8:03 + 10x400 @ 3k pace was most likely a TT with a moderate workout after.
So his coach had him do a 3k starting at the 200 mark? Guessing this sounds more believable than saying he ran 8:38 which is better than his pr.

If he did run an 8:03, it was a TT. With a decent break, he could have pulled of the 10×400 workout.
I'd assume it was at least 6 minutes of rest after the 3k, makes the workout easier.
I don't care. Easton Allred (GOAT) time trialed 8:58 at altitude. Performance of the decade.
His NAU teammates couldn't do this solo workout without 30 minutes rest between the 3k and the 400s. The 3k would be the second fastest time of his life.
The 3k in 8:03 was 13:25 5k pace. Then he did 10x400 at slightly faster pace. The 400s go through 3200m in 8:31. He's clearly in shape to break the high school 2M (Lukas Verzbicas, 8:29) and 5000m records (Galen Rupp, 13:37). I don't doubt the workouts his coach posts. He's been spot on in predictions and we saw him run that workout in something like 4:10/2:06/4:12/2:06 ... Some troll here is always pumping some alleged comment that may or may not be true while I just see a coach of a national team and individual xc championship, a 7:56.97 runner--who is clearly better now--and an 8:44 3200m runner, along with multiple 4:20 freshmen milers.
The total in the workout is 7k (4.25M) at about 13:20 5k pace, which accords pretty well with that filmed xc workout on grass, but this is even faster. That xc workout also had him doing considerably more than 5k, maybe 7k also, at 5k pace or better.

Isn't it more believable for a young person to rapidly improve in a short time period? This 13:56 to. 13:25 indoor to outdoors doesn't sound that unbelievable to me honestly. Certainly as believable as Webb improving 3:59- 3:53.
He is ready for 13:15.
His coach is ready to take on a pro group. Nico will be ready to break 13 next year which will make it likely that he will be too fast for the NCAA.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
