This is 100% our mayor making another one of his bold statements and proclamations to keep himself in the headlines. It's just plain dumb on so many levels - from what I've seen, almost 100% of people in supermarkets or waiting in lines have been voluntarily wearing masks. Infection rates in our city are below the state average, and we're on the down side of the curve. The CDC, WHO and Dr. Anthony Fauci have all said that you don't need a mask outdoors if keeping an appropriate distance from others. So now if I run on an empty street at 7AM, or my kids are playing in a wide-open field we all have to wear token masks?

I'll be ignoring this. If one of the city cops, who haven't been wearing masks, wants to chase me down, let them.

The Somerville Mayor declared a snow emergency his first month in office. The declaration came 12 hours before the snow was supposed to start falling. It never snowed, but the emergency stayed in effect. 3,000 parking tickets were isssued and 200 cars were towed in Somerville for a snow emergency that had no snow.
