Haven’t seen anything about this guy since he ran indoor in UO Jersey last year. Anyone know what he’s up to now

I think he died just like the rest of the guys who try to YouTube while running
No
This is what he is up to now:

Quite sad story, as it appears from his facebook-page that he now is a homeless alcoholic..
Bit of a D-move by you to bring this up in two different threads. Pretty sure Soren was always open about his mental health so there's really no reason to point this out TWICE.

It might be time to re-evaluate your own life if you feel the need to bring this up.
Why shouldn't I? I did it because I feel sorry for him. Such a talented runner ending up like this.. In both the treads, the people wondered what Soren was up to now. Sadly, this is the truth.. Obviously he needs help, so the more people that know about the pressumably tragic circumstances he lives, the more people can help him.

It is pretty arrogant of you to assume that being homeless is inherently a lesser or worse lifestyle than being homed. You are applying your own values to someone else's life situation.
Imagine a football player saying "I feel sorry for you because you're a runner." He's basing his assessment on his own bias that being a football player is automatically superior to being a runner. In the same way, you are starting from the assumption that your own situation is better than Soren's.
You guys are circling. First it is bad to post about the guy being down on his luck. Then it is that he is actually better off and happier which makes the poster a good guy for pointing out the lifestyle accomplishment.
Maybe the kid doesn't want help or doesn't need help. Not everyone makes it in running. He accomplished more than 99.999% of the people here have. Not everyone turns pro, or even runs all 4 years of NCAAs.
If you think he needs help why don't you message him and ask, instead of resurrecting TWO months old threads. His life isn't for your enjoyment.
There's a difference between choosing to be "homeless" and someone who would, in better circumstances, would prefer to not worry about money, medical, food, housing, emergencies etc. Obviously we can't know where Soren is on that spectrum but if he's truly on the ropes I'd hate for people to assume he wants to live like that.
Kid must have done too many psychedelics in his hay-day
Any updates on Soren? I don't have facebook. Huge fan of his from his IL heyday
I dont know his situation but I hope someone can reach out to him if he does need help. Perhaps he is depressed with substance abuse issues? Stuff like that can be healed with therapy, just seeing a mental health professional is a step forward. It is not his fault for his situation, he is young and perhaps his mental health is leading him on a downward spiral. All the best to him.
Don’t speak upon people that you don’t know. Soren is way more than an alcoholic bum

Why do you think this? Do you have some insight that indicates otherwise?
It may be hard to understand, but people with certain types of mental differences actually prefer homelessness. Let's not assume that Soren isn't living the life he wants to live just because he isn't living he life that you or I would live.
yeah
