This is such BS. Max should have been fired for that Nike deal. They hand wrapped Nike the sponsorship deal without getting any other bidders likely costing USATF millions per year. Plus $23 million goes to brokers? If we paid $23 million for brokers what the hell did Max do?
There are thousands of people who for a few hundred grand a year could do a much better job.
What is the total USATF gave to support elites who they make their money off of? Less than Max is paid.
What sponsor do you think was going to come up with that sort of deal? The broker fees seem way over the top although on a percentage basis it probably aligns with normal practices. Grant writers often get a commission on grants. I always thought it was high because I was never sure exactly how much they did to earn it. From reports it appears the deal was pretty well done.
