Ran Boston twice, in 1998 and 2002. Was such a thrill to have run well enough to have qualified, and then all the mystic, the respect, the beauty, the difficulty, I could personally experience.
What I am missing today? Taking off work to watch the race and enjoy the competition while knowing what they are feeling and seeing every mile (though the last mile or so is now different with that underpass that I'd have as part of the course).
The cheers all along the way, the encouragement at the peak of Heartbreak Hill, so much more.
We'll be back and run it again, now's the time to stay safe and do the smart thing by all we can practice to avoid the deadly spread of this awful pandemic.
