Great, do you want a cookie?
Carriage roads are like side roads that parallel the main ones.
If any of you are from CLE, it's basically Lakeland Blvd., that runs next to I-90 in Euclid.

Seriously. An awful thing to say. If you really are not someone who would ever dial 911, at least respect the fact that most law officers are devoted to the public good. And to insult someone's spouse that way is beyond the pale. Grow up.
I don't understand why i can't run the course when the actual race is taking place. It's literally closed to everyone not running the race.

Sir, I would strongly suggest you reconsider your idea. The City of Newton has placed a large traffic control sign on our western boundary that the marathon route is closed to all pedestrians. If our officers observe anyone running on the course they are to advise the individual to stop immediately or face arrest. If the individual continues they will be advised they are under arrest and to lay face down on the ground. Anyone who attempts to evade arrest will be tazed. Perpetrators will be zip tied and charged with violating a government order , disorderly conduct, disobeying a police officer and endangering the public welfare . If 10 or more are running together they will be charged with the felony of inciting a riot . After arrest, prisoners will be brought to the Newton Jail , where they will be held overnight until a court appearance Tuesday morning.
Does anyone else see a problem with this? Arrest people for running, or going to church ... meanwhile release violent criminals from jail
Authoritarian leftism is a mental disorder, and a huge danger to everyone in our republic.
Just got back in. Didn't see any cops at the start but saw like 3 or 4 on the course. Gave them the ol' fingerwag and kept running.
Can't believe people would risk not running Boston on Patriot's day just so they can have an asterisk later in the year, if it's even held in 2020.

Nope, I've run it twice and will run it again tomorrow, on-course for as much as I can. Why don't you high five us (bunch of ex-collegiates pacing each other) at Wellesley?
What’s the point? It won’t be the correct course, you won’t have a legit time, and you are putting others at risk.
You’re doing it for one of two reason: a) attention or b) to be a contrarian. Either way, you look like a douche, and you make the rest of us look bad.
QFE here. The roads won't be closed to vehicles so a large number of people running the course would be dangerous just for that reason. I guess not many motorist on the roads these days but still. Also it's a point to point course so what do you plan to do when you reach the finish line? Walk 26 miles back to the start?
Also you are acting like it was an unjust reason to cancel the marathon so running the course in protest or defiance just makes you look like a fool and will get lumped in with legit expressions to reopen businesses over the coming weeks and months. Pick your damn battles.

If I were in Mass today I'd run the hell out of that course. Can't believe we have so many pu$$ies out there willing to give their freedoms. This is a free country, let's keep it that way.
No one cares if you go run a marathon somewhere by yourself; they just don't want 500 morons clogging the roads at the same time. I can't believe you guys don't see why that would be a problem.
Because someone told them not to do it so they think they doing hardcore civil disobedience by doing it. Bunch of wannabe Rosa Parks

Uhh you're telling me Rosa Parks is better at civil disobedience than we are? We just ran 26.2 miles in disobedience. Parks wouldn't walk to the back of the bus. What is that like 20 feet?
Seems like a dumb - attention seeking idea to me. You can easily run a marathon TT in a much safer environment (for yourself and other people). Running towards downtown Boston when you know many other ppl will be doing the same isn't too smart. Also, you'll be completely missing out on the benefits of the Boston Marathon (crowd, ambiance, other runners etc...)
I guess Strava Kudos > Common Sense.

Have to agree. Actually, the evils of segregation pale compared to the horrors of not being allowed to run the official Boston marathon course on Patriot's day.
Why can't people just stay off the course for one day that local government has asked?
Will your life change that much if you do the run tomorrow or this weekend?
Just to prove that you have balls?

Running on the course today does not take balls.

It's that "we need now government" syndrome.
American's think they are free and yet they have to do this kind of BS.

This is a total disgrace! Banning people from going out for a run, absolute madness! They don't want you to have freedom. Next they'll be telling us we all have to be in bed by half past eight.
No, they are not trying to ban people from running. They are asking you to NOT run on the BAA course. Huge difference. Your reading comprehension skills are not great.
Who "won" today?
Explain the difference between not running on the BAA course vs. running on your own? Did you need any first responders today on your run? On any run? I'm glad a bunch of brave patriots ran the BAA course today, especially that kid that ran 2:36. Solid solo effort.

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
