The people who say that there won't be racing until there's a vaccine or 2022 or something have lost their minds. The average age of people dying from covid is something like 79. At some point, way before 2022, we're just going to have to accept that life has risk and get back to business. In the meantime, therapeutic treatments for the drug are advancing rapidly, and will likely crush the mortality rate of the disease. Regarding a vaccine, we don't know when or even if a vaccine can actually be made . . . there's no realistic way that we can all 'social distance' until one is available.
All that being said, unnecessary international travel and race expos with 10,000 people in a room, race corrals with thousands shoved together, etc. are rightfully the last things that should return to normal. I have difficulty seeing the timeline on this working out for September races. It's not impossible, I just wouldn't bet on it.
