A recent non doping one that is likely untrue is that Boston the year after the marathon bombing was fixed so Meb would win.

Ryan Halls low testosterone and chronic fatigue was a result of him screwing up his bodies homeostasis with years of doping.
Burn bright, but quickly.
I should add, this conspiracy can be applied to alot of athletes who burned out. Not just Ryan hall.
It's scientifically factual that using synthetic testosterone reduces or even negates the natural ability to produce it. Hall suddenly had testosterone issues which he blamed for his struggles, being stunningly far off his top form. His wife's performance progression is relatively suspicious as well. The fact that they tout God makes them even more suspicious. Most people use "God" to repent their sins to absolve them of feeling guilty. I'm not implicating them, just saying there's red flags present at the very least.
Shacarrie tested positive for peds at trials and the weed story was a cover story concocted by wada and usatf.
Sydney dalilah Mu and felix all hate each other. They borderline hate each other so much they almost couldn't run together in the 4x4.
Over half the footlocker top 15 finishers are on peds while in high school. Open secret.
The abuse and accusations from Mary cain are all in her head. In reality she was coddled and taken care of very well.

Like these ones.
Could also see the short tracks in places like BU.
Don't really consider widespread doping a conspiracy theory since it seems to be borderline an accepted and open practice.

* Anyone willing to risk everything by smoking weed right before Olympics would not necessarily have a morality issue regarding P.E.D.s.
* Ms. McLaughlin and Ms. Mohammed in theory would have a lot in common. Both east coast young ladies racing the same event, but who knows ... . A. Mu dislike anyone? No. Ms. McLaughlin and Ms. Mohammed not getting along with A. Felix? Possible.
* Heard rumors of amphetamine use among XC runners way back in late 1970's & 1980's. I don't know either way about the accuracy of your statement.
* You are flat wrong about Mary Cain. M. Cain was a jewel of an 800m runner. Al Sal, never a good coach of 800m runners, either did not know how to develop Cain as an 800m runner or he had no patience. For the record, M. Cain at 16 & 17 was only slightly slower at 800m the Ajee Wilson whom is only a year or two older than M. Cain.
Al Sal, starving M. Cain, forcing M. Cain to shed muscle in order for M. Cain to be the 1500m/5000m runner Al Sal wanted M. Cain to be meant Al Sal had to go down.
It is not uncommon for criminal defendants to serve time for an offense other than their primary office. Al Sal's primary offense was not making Mary Cain a medal winning world class 800/1500 runner.
Oprah didn't really run the full course.
this one i believe

Disagree on your first point. Risk-taking behavior doesn't stem from the same place, psychologically, as dishonest behavior.
Also, if "weed" was a cover up for PEDs, that means she didn't do both. The whole point of that conspiracy theory is that it insinuates that she didn't actually test positive for weed.
I read exactly the same story about Molly Huddle. You get around.

^^^That’s a rumor started by someone that just isn’t good enough. Having been top 15 twice, and being on teams with/training with numerous other “top 15” FL guys, I can plainly state that your theory is false.
I should note that there is a very strong rumor regarding nau’s liberal use of thc. Specifically, a thread was recently deleted touting that very rumor.

This is in the realm of plausibility, but I'm still not sure how you would go about "fixing" a marathon. Putting trace amounts of sedatives in the other athletes' water bottles?
Your thinking is faulty Detective Columbo. An athletes does both P.E.D.s and weed. Maybe she thought she was, Too Big To Fail. But if she has to do time, do time for weed instead of P.E.D.s.
Florence Griffith Joyner tested positive at the 1988 Olympics. It was covered up by authorities in return for her promise to retire immediately, which she did.
I actually believe this one. FloJo left tens of millions of dollars by the wayside by retiring after her spectacular performances.
Every host country is given a few athletes that get doping hall passes by WADA and the IOC (in order for them to ensure some impressive Golds for the home fans).
Michael Johnson in 96, cathy freeman in 2000, that white greek guy that won the 200 in 2004, the entire chinese team in 2008, Mo Farah in 2012, mens football and vollyball teams in 2016 etc
If the teams starts to dope far outside what was agreed to with WADA/IOC, then they start to crack down.
Wilson Chebet - a 205 3x winner of Amsterdam who regularly closed in 6:20 - threw Boston 2014 so that Meb could, "win"

You bribe the top invited athletes. The field started walking at 5:20 pace at 4-5 miles. Then Chebet - who was closing on Meb - just stopped.
Here's a recent one:
NAU lost to SUU at their conference meet just a couple weeks before they won their national title this winter in stillwater.
They threw the race to avoid getting tested, because they would have been positive for marijuana.
This is truly one of the biggest. It is a surprise that it hasn't come up.
Shorter: Cierpinski was juiced. I actually won.
American fans: Yeah, Frank, you're right.
Me: Frank, you lost, you suck, you're still whining about this.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
