Did this happen for real? I only know of the Michigan protests.
I live in Cbus and fear that the protests downtown will keep getting bigger.
ARs have long range though, but the cops have them too.
A big fear is if the protestors truly mobilized and organized and fought our governments asymmetrically like the mujahdeen in the '80s against the Russians or the Chechens in '94-95.
As a gun enthusiast...
I get their right to protest and agree that Whitmer sucks. I live in Ohio and DeWine is much better. At least his SAH is more reasonable.
But these guys would be shredded by police quickly. They don't have any kind of Level IIIA body armor.

Brilliant, comedy gold.
Incels posturing is the height of their convictions.

There's plenty of online photos of these non-essentials walking around in the rain, holding homemade signs, and making law enforcement waste resources. They'll go home and cash their government checks as soon as the media cameras get turned off.
You are NOT planning to cash your checks, right? By cashing it, you are condoning the Socialist agenda that you despise. By allowing your politicians to give $1.6T to corporations and $350B to individuals, you are condoning a Socialist agenda via corporate and individual entitlements. Emphasis on corporate entitlements in case your math is weak. By allowing your politicians to accrue $1T yearly debt even before this crisis, you are condoning a Socialist agenda.
We the people are bailing out companies that took free money from Uncle Sam and used it for stock buybacks after they had failed at capitalism. That, my friends, is exactly what Socialism for the rich looks like.
ah natural selection...
thinning out the herd
Rednecks and unemployables stand no chance. They may have guns but they only use them to shoot squirrels and road signs.
Gamers are the real threat. They have spend hours honing tactics in 100% realistic war sims that teach you to kill. If they get mad, the US gov't is screwed.

Looking at them, I highly doubt any of these clowns had jobs before all this. America's non-essentials doing what they do best.
The arrogance it takes to label millions of people as "non-essential" is truly staggering.
Get off your high horse, you are no better than anyone else.

Ask uncle sam who is essential

It doesn't matter. Even if you are a convicted murderer, you still have dignity as a human being. Everyone's life is valuable. Western civilization is built on that fundamental idea, as is the legal system. Nobody is "non essential"
Labeling some people "non essential" is how you get ethnic cleansing and genocide

Of course. Doesn't mean I can't laugh at them for doing stupid sh*t. That another fundamental idea Western civ is build on: bad decisions get mocked

You think this is bad, go to Nextdoor.com.

I’m not encouraging armed rebellion by any means but I think we are misunderstanding why we have a right to bear arms. Of course our citizens would get destroyed by our military or even a well armed & trained police force but the point is to make both of them think twice before trying to enforce tyranny on the population.
A government is less likely to enforce tyranny on its population if they know the citizens are well armed and willing to resist. This is why most tyrannical dictatorships in the 20th and 21st century outlaw the private ownership of firearms.

Wolverine!
The mental gymnastics are strong with this one.
That’s just as well because you’d be sorely disappointed.
Posturing from fat middle aged guys who haven’t been able to see their own d!cks in years due to their oversized guts. But their guns make them feel bigger. They completely lack the commitment, discipline and bravery to bring about rebellion.

Reminds me of the BLM and occupy wall streets folks.
Folks, this small protest is just the beginning. It's not just small businesses that are being annihilated. The NY Times is reporting that Disney is losing $30 million per day. Large hospitals (think Cleveland Clinic) are on track to lose $1 billion by the end of the year.
These protesters are on the forefront of a much larger movement. The MI governor is on the wrong side of this one - and that will be obvious to everyone soon.
The longer these idiot trumpers continue to gather, the longer the shelter in place will remain. Stupid is what stupid republicans do.
I hope everybody advocating for "open everything up again" would read this story:
