1. Food, water, shelter, and clothing are literally people most basic needs.
2. Not sure what this means. The poster I responded to asked why people from out of state can still travel to their 2nd home in Michigan. I answered that the constitution limits the restrictions state governments can place on interstate travel. This is true and a simple Google search will confirm as much.
3. Getting gas for cars is considered essential, getting gas for recreational boating is not considered essential. Pretty easy concept.
4. Why do you think abortion procedures (technically called “Dilation and curettage”) need to be performed in an inpatient setting? It is a simple, safe procedure. That would be needlessly expensive and wasteful - especially when in-patient beds are in short supply. Just because some treatment treats a life threatening condition, does not mean the treatment itself is dangerous. Taking antibiotics cures many life threatening diseases and I can do that at home with a glass of water.

I have no idea whether Germans were flying the Confederate flag in Berlin, but nothing those people do would surprise me.
Here in America, however, over 75% of the population (i.e., those who don't live in the former Confederate South) consider it the symbol of an enemy of the United States, that lost the civil war in large part due to the cowardice and ineptitude of its own soldiers. It's kind of like flying the Italian flag in that respect.
Most Americans also now find it an ironic symbol of Southern feelings of independence, given that the South is a net suck-drain on the rest of the country.
