Basically, if you are under 40, this increases your risk of dying during the year (which is already quite small) by about 1% , If you are in your 40s or 50s, it increases it by about 5% (from .33% chance of dying during the year to 0.345% chance of dying during the year). For those 60 and above, it is closer to a 7% increase in the risk of death during the year. So while it is a risk, it is a small one (and one that is significantly reduced if you do not have pre-existing conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes).
