I was rather referring to the people who continue to question Sweden's success, and who have falsely promoted the idea that lockdowns have made any positive difference.
Because lock downs/social distancing have, and there is no success from Sweden.
You guys are like some drunks who learn of something someone said at a pub then try to use the information at your next BBQ to sound clever, then keep repeating stuff that no one is going to bother to look up
Let's make some comparisons. Australia is most frequently compared to Sweden in terms of quality of life, health, economy etc. And don't come with the 'Australia is an island thing'...it doesn't make you smart, all countries have closed borders and Australia have had more cruise ship import infections than all other countries.
Australia:
Current total infections, 6,468, including >4,000 directly overseas acquired
Infections per million 254
Deaths 63
Deaths per million 2
Current daily new infections approx 40, R0 of <0.5
Sweden:
Current total infections, 12,540
Infections per million 1,242
Deaths 1,333
Deaths per million 132
Current daily new infections approx 650 and not flattening yet.
You can see that the deaths, with similar health support, is out of sync. Not even discounting the 18 deaths off one cruise ship and clusters totalling 20 in three nursing homes, Australia has a death per infection of <1%
Sweden is 10.6%
Worldwide 6.6%
USA 5.1%
That tells you that their infections have to be higher, somewhere in the 25,000 to 45,000 range on a like for like basis (testing according to same symptom level)
Let's check the testing then:
Australia tested 380,000, 15,000 per million and 1.7 positive per test
Sweden tested 74,600, 7,400/million and 168 positive per test.
Does it look like they are testing to the same criteria, or not enough?
The key giveaway are the graphs of their positive plotted against time, and look at the log scale.
Australia has a near perfect rising and flattening.
Sweden 's is obvious even to the village idiot, that it is ad hoc.
You cannot hide the inaccuracies.
Please stop with this sudden love of Sweden, or if you must, please start an equivalent Australi thread.
