More to the point, of course we millennials have had a rougher go of it than the Boom Squad. They grew up following the classic releases of Bob Dylan and The Beatles, whereas I’m left with what?—Kanye and Lil Nas X? Life ain’t fair.
Future generations will have it far tougher as the Earth starts becoming uninhabitable by present standards (yes, thanks to human activity). I would never pin the blame on any generation though—human nature is that of shortsightedness and greed, and that stretches across any generational definitions.
True about the baby boomers. They have been mislabeled. Those 75 and older are not part of that generation either.
But, don’t forget about the Vietnam War (people my age all have known someone that did not have a father because of it) and that they are also going through this and the 2008-2011 economic collapse. They are not all rich people living in mansions.
I’m a gen x’er. My kids have said “ok boomer” more than once to me which I had a good laugh about. It’s so misplaced that I have used it back on them. We were the first generation to get a derogatory name to define us. But we embrace that.
If anyone suggests that somehow millennials have it worse during this I am at a loss for understanding. It’s just as bad for people in my home.
