Arcadia could have been amazing this year.
59.7 first lap, including the extra 30 feet. Then came through in 2:03. So first 400m was probably like a 58, then 409 to 809 was about 63.3. Needs to hire a better pacer!
Good run, though. Tough being out there in basically a paced time trial in the middle of what should have been your senior season.
I wonder if Culpepper will give it a go.
He did a good job staying of the line, but it would be nice to see some cones set up for these attempts.

He should be able to get better pacers.
Fine job. Maybe a bit of a hitch/back and forth in his stride, but looks like he has fine potential at this or 5000m. I admire these guys getting out there and running fast time trials after they lost their senior seasons to the virus closures.
So in a HS race with nobody around him at that pace......he would maybe run a 4:08-4:10. Neat but not special.
That was very impressive!

Thank you for that useless input.
Another quick high school time trial in CA (403.5 1600)

my heart goes to out to them, can't imagine how they feel after a canceled season, especially for the seniors...sucks
btw...great times, will colleges care?

Why would someone capable of a 4:03 time trial not go for the mile?
Leo's pacer screwed him. 58-65 first two laps, then 59-59 for Leo solo. No chance.
How did he get permission to run on that track? Campus is closed.
Don't give it much thought. It is a time trial. Just something they probably decided to do a day or 2 prior. He can do it again many more times over the next few months. Betting the fastest runners and coaches will try to get an official time. I am curious how much effort that would take. There are many post season meets that make it into Milesplit so it can't be too difficult.

The guys running 4:03 are already top recruits, so it doesn't matter.
But, I do think that college coaches will give some credence to video tapes time trials from slower kids. For example, if some kid is a junior this year and runs a couple of time trials in the 4:10 to 4:14 range after running only 4:24 last year as a sophomore, I think coaches will take notice. What else will they have to go off of? They need to keep recruiting, they've got to use the best info available to them to bring in the best recruits they can.
There are spots for way more we than the 4:10 juniors. If a 4:30 soph runs 4:22 in a time trial this year as a junior, there will be plenty of interested coaches.

Yeah, I guess at the mid majors and d2 schools.
95% of P5 schools have at least 1 guy on their roster who did not break 4:20 junior year. Oh and Tyler Day who ran 13:16 this year was a 4:23 best as a junior.
wow, he's probably one of the best in the USA with that time.
That should be on FOX, NBC, CBS. All of the stations should play this, it is inspirational.
