Som solid lists here.
Lived first 21 years in WI, left it/am critical of many parts of it and have been to ...43? states...def more awful ones. And honestly there are worthwhile/nice aspects of every state.
The Deep South, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Indiana, Ohio for sure. All those places are hot and humid and mostly flat, fat, cultural backwaters. Sure each state has a college town or two of cultural interest, but WI at least has a whole swath of interesting wooded glacial areas with lakes. Good XC skiing and biking.
Texas also sucks but is so big that people will point out the relatively small (Austin, Hill Country, wooded areas north of Houston) parts that don’t suck.
As for college senior sports (affecting the image of a whole state)? In Barry Alvarez We Trust.
