For anyone who missed all the action.
For anyone who missed all the action.
i mean even if you were on board with the official's call, i'm not sure anyone would call it the "coolest thing ever."
Wardian is not accepting the victory.
Washington Post carries an article that came out an hour ago.

Wardian v. Radek II - live from COVID-20. ONLY ON PAY-PER-VIEW.
Reason #372164 why ultrarunning is a joke. Any vegans in this race??
It's funny that all of the ho-hum "sit and kick" track and marathon viewers that come in just to disparage a run far from orthodox and compelling until 63:02:00 into it. I'm not saying this is the future of running by any stretch but, good grief, enjoy it for what it was.
Yeah, baby, from Prague this time, and they run side by side on an oversized custom treadmill! Bring your own kolache!

Pretty lame, they stopped something that could have been even more epic over something trivial.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is just about the most accurate description of the sport of distance running and track and field as a whole that I have ever heard.
It looks to me like the dq, while within the rules, didn't take account of technology freezes and malfunctions, which should not cause a dq where the guy was there ready to run and just waiting for the technology to tell him to start. He should have kept the watch to check when to go, but I would vote no dq. Laz loves to dq people, the more heart-breaking the better, but the fact is that Brunner was ready to go on, as was Wardian. Probably his screen froze and so he missed the bell. After that many hours, no dq should have come unless he hadn't showed up. He was moving a little after a minute into it, so he was getting no sleep advantage, to allude to Rojo's example.

Source?
What's with the crying soyboy commentator??? And why does everyone look like they're locked in a basement? Embarrassing stuff.
OK, google radek brunner! Dude has been covered for this race in every world language!
He could literally wipe his butt with gold after this.
Looks like that Mike Wardian didn't understand the rules at all.
He was bummed that he couldn't keep going.
What a joke of an ending this whole thing was.
I want my money back.
OMG, that boomer loser has no sense of anything. Petty authority power trip. He had stepped on the treadmill. Wardian did not start perfectly on time every time. The spirit and letter were followed.
At worst, give him a warning after the lap ends.
Absolutely no value to this. He is not disrupting some logistic process others are relying on. He WAS on the treadmill on time. He gained no advantage.
People like this guy explain why everyone says boomers do nothing besides strain our civilization at this point.

Great, I didn't know they made a movie from the 6 day race at the Dome.

bit of a rant, but essentially accurate.
Laz is a liar (i was shouting and screaming at him - you weren't) and a coward (he said he wasnt an rd, but he was clearly very influential).
Laz is the joke. Ultra running showed it can be a fabulous sport -except for the dinosaurs.

Wardian, one of the two absolute beasts of this event, is "pretty much vegan" (eggs and honey only)
https://www.runnersworld.com/nutrition-weight-loss/a25349260/how-michael-wardian-fuels/The two dudes should have just kept going.
The RD was wrong, and Laz should go back to the 1800s where he belongs.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
