I live in New Orleans. I run twice a day. My main run happens around 4:30am so I never see anyone outside. When I go do my 2nd run, this happens in the afternoon at a park usually. They have so many more people out there then ever before.
I know our city is a clusterfuck with people infected, but I see groups of people walking side by side and cycling together. A good chunk of the people who are on ventilators here have some pre-existing condition like diabetes, hypertension, obesity, etc.
The track at city park that's open to the public has like a 100 people using it simultaneously. We have a beautiful lakefront here that they close to cars during the weekends now due to so many people going out there. You can still run/bike on those roads though during the weekend.
It's crazy because people hardly ever did anything outside unless it involves drinking around here. But now it's just massive amounts of people picnicking, walking, whatever. It's funny that it takes a virus to get their lazy asses out the house, but people have no common sense. They don't get out the way, they think they are the only ones on the entire pathway.
Of course we have this lockdown, but it is ok to exercise and go to the store. Gas is pretty cheap,it hit 87 cents around here which is pretty awesome.
