I have never seen so many people outside. Sidewalks and paths are loaded with groups of people. Kids are playing basketball and soccer. Golf courses are packed. Hospitals have no patients of any kind.
Ohio
Very few cases in the smaller counties. People seem to be social distancing but there are just as many vehicles on the road as normal. Main areas affected are the bigger cities especially Cleveland area.
Minneapolis, MN... last I checked we had the fewest cases per capita in the us, we were also one of the first states with recommended and semi-mandatory stay at home.
Hospitals pretty slow so far, I know a few hospitals workers/med student and it’s pretty under control as far as they see.
Take the dog for a long walk most days and there are tons of people out but maintaining their distance.
I think we are almost the textbook case for early response, top notch health care and great outdoor space so that works in our favor.
Illinois—Chicago suburbs. Closest hospital has 8 Covid +
patients. Most of them a cluster from a nursing home 2 miles away from me. The city I live in has 19 confirmed cases. I don’t know who they are.
Tons of People out walking and biking in neighborhoods. About 30% wearing masks.
Florida-(Central Florida): literally the same as everyone else posting this us far. Some businesses shut down but TONS of people out and about.
I also just moved from western Illinois down here, driving through 4 states to get here. While many businesses are closed, restaurants are doing the “delivery and carry out” only thing, and downtown Nashville looked a bit like the zombie apocalypse had come...the Walmarts, Targets, and grocery stores are packed.
Suffice it to say, whoever is sheltering at home, they’re not between Illinois and Florida.
Southern NM: Non-essential businesses have been closed. Schools are closed. The Lowe's is busier than ever. I've seen more people walking and running this week than the past two months.
i live in California.
ever since the arrival of COVID-19, i've been seeing a lot more rainfall. thank you COVID-19 for watering my lawn.
Our problem is that some areas should have stay at home and be shutdown like New York and New Jersey area which have half of the entire us cases/deaths. However, there is no reason in most areas but politicians are being extra cautious because no one wants to be that governor/mayor that was in charge of an area that happened to blow up in cases. Look at all the flack Florida was getting for keeping their beaches open. The crazies would be on your case if you didn’t by in to the fear mongering.

This. Reminds me of the days prior to technology, internet & cellular phones. Maybe that’s why my generation Is popular these days?
Nashville.
Stay at home orders. Bleh.
Parks are absolutely crammed. Have never seen so many people out. Couldn't even get in the parking lot of one of the very-out-of-the-way state parks today. Full families and their pets gallivanting all over the place.
It was a nice day.
WA. Haven’t spoken to a single person who has spoken to a single person who knows a single person who has it
Ohio:
Roads are at 30% of normal.
These past few days have been nice out.
I have never seen so many people outside. Walking. Playing as families. Keeping thier distance from others.
I run a lot on a new, sparsely traveled trail. Before this week, I had never seen anyone past the first mile from the trailhead. I've probably seen 10 people oooout there, through the course of about 30 miles of running.
Oregon. Grocery manager. One of my friends tested positive. Very sick with her husband. Both in their early thirties.
Work is crazy. People are wearing tons more masks. We set up a washing hand station for our customers. Every cart is sanitized after every use by a disinfectant spray out side. All the workers are receiving a two dollar hazard pay. The checkers all have a plexiglass barrier in front of them. All bathrooms are closed on the hour for 15 minutes deep sanitation.
People are outside more. Some are respecting the 6 ft rule some are not.
I always tend to lean toward cautious and I am going to start wearing a mask Monday. I’d rather lean toward being overly cautious and live. My spouse has been furloughed.
Queens, NY. Parks are locked up now, before that rims were taken off the basketball courts, before that kids were playing as if nothing was going on and old men were playing dominoes and cards in the parks.
Depending on your zip code it could be quiet or chaotic.
Where I am you line up outside to go shopping as they only allow a few in the stores at a time. Some stores only allow you in if you have a mask and about half the ones that were open 2 weeks ago are closed.
I know plenty of people who tested positive almost all had minor symptoms and are fine now, even my coaching buddy's 90 year old parents. My gastro Dr (Arnold Weg) had a very rough case and is starting to recover after an experimental drug.
I understand why many of you dont think it's a big deal but here it is. We take all the precautions necessary and I'm a bit scared. I don't know or care if vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements work I'm loading up anyway.
Nothing overrun but a bunch of idiots begging the governor to strip us of our constitutional rights in the name of comfort and safety.
Charlotte NC,
Much less traffic. Most people respecting social distancing. Lots of people out and about. Very few cases here but in the south we tend to naturally spread out anyway. Very curious to see how humidity affects the spread since it will start up by mid April. I know people say it isn't happening in Australia but I'm also not sure how high the dew point and relative humidity are on the very populous coastal cities. I would think India would be a better example. Either way I'm hoping for the best! Also hoping they don't close the trails. Also hoping for a tax refund if they do close anything....
Anyway. Life is good here in the clt!
CA - huge impact to life. Everything is shut down/closed. Most restaurants are closed, a few are still doing take out, delivery, or curbside pick up. Its mostly the local places, not the chains that have closed down, though for some reason starbucks are mostly closed. Hell, I can't even get a cup of coffee within 5 miles of my house except at mcdonalds or 7/11. In my county, almost all trails, parks, bikepaths are closed. All beaches are closed. It looks like the few trails left open have closed their parking lots (I'm going to check the last one I've seen open tomorrow). All beaches are closed. Tons of people are without work, tourism is a big industry here, which makes the impact even bigger. If you want to get groceries on the weekend, one of the only activities still allowed other than walking or running on roads and bike lanes, expect to wait in a 20-30 person line to get into the store. People are getting ticketed for gathering, and of course for entering closed areas out of desperation for something to do. Over 1300 cases in my county thus far and growing exponentially.

Haha, march was a rainy month.
Montana-most people seem ok with the stay at home order, probably because most of us have jobs that are hard work with low pay. Annoying thing is on trails when people have conversations while social distancing, then spread out right in the middle of the trail so anyone walking or running has to get within inches of these pinhead goofballs who won't move to the side of the road. Town looks nice without all the cars and traffic... avoiding outdoor spaces like trail heads as they have the most people.
virus was introduced mostly via airport. its the gateway to yellowstone park so its an international hotbed.
