UK PM admitted to hospital for tests
The UK prime minister Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital for tests after showing persistent symptoms of coronavirus 10 days after testing positive.
A Downing Street spokeswoman said: “On the advice of his doctor, the Prime Minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests.
“This is a precautionary step, as the Prime Minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus 10 days after testing positive for the virus.
“The Prime Minister thanks NHS staff for all of their incredible hard work and urges the public to continue to follow the Government’s advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.”
Johnson remains in charge of the government and in contact with ministers and officials.
Johnson on March 27 became the first leader of a major power to announce that he had tested positive. He has been isolating in his Downing Street flat since.
Wonder if he’ll be treated by the Health Service he tried to destroy.

I think you need to seek therapy, jesseriley. It's been genuinely disconcerting reading your posts over the last month.
And it's a harsh reality that this illness doesn't seem to care what position in society you occupy, hopefully he makes a recovery and has a renewed fervor for improving the NHS.
Can your condition suddenly deteriorate ten days after symptoms first appear?
agreed.
you are a hateful person
yes, sadly, its fairly typical of the progression to the next stage. i hope anyone in this condition improves.

It was "lap dog" that destroyed the NHS with his massive low skill immigration policy. Not even Bernie Maddof could put enough lipstick on that pig.
I thought the OP was talking about this Boris.

Good question. My training partner had a relapse 7 days after the first symptoms, but they weren't quite as severe as during the first 24 hours.
Yes, unfortunately they can. A couple of things could be happening, he could have developed a bacterial pneumoniae on top of this infection, he could be developing a cardiomyopathy, or he could be going into respiratory failure. There are many other options but these are some of the more serious ones that can take time to develop. Very few people deserve to die, and he isn't one of the few, so let's hope it is simply precautionary.
Bad news. Usually when people have symptoms for 10-14 days and then go downhill, they're intubated and on a respirator within 24 hours.

Jesse Reily has done more for the health of some than you can ever imagine.
Boris Johnson is just an idiot who still shook hands when he was not supposed to anymore. And a couple of years ago he denied the nurses a 1% pay raise.
hey jesse, the pharmacy called. they said your meds are ready for pickup

I'm not angry, just making an observation that is apparent to anyone with a semblance of intelligence.

Yes. I’ve read of other cases that progressed this way. Usually indicates pneumonia or damage to the lungs has developed over the 10 days the body has been fighting the virus. Not a good sign But can definitely still recover. Hopefully he’ll get the help he needs.
Also interesting that Boris repeatedly denied being severely ill, and trying to maintain this outrageous lie ensured that he waited far too long to seek additional medical attention. Big ego, Boris?
His political, and ridiculously stupid, strategy of “herd immunity” means that people should be exposed to the virus to create a mythical benefit. It’s completely appropriate that such beliefs harm their proponents, who obviously underestimate that the virus could have any personal repercussions. Apparently they believe in their own individual physical superiority.
