I'm quite skeptical of these "long-haulers" and am curious the degree to which this is psychosomatic.
Tell any random person that they have a serious respiratory illness and all of a sudden most of them will be hypersensitive to any real or imagined symptom.
I was probably skeptical of those that took long to recover from the flu as I seldom has a fever and never for more than a day or so for 30 years until one year I had a low fever and was sick to my stomach for a full 10 days. I lost a lot of weight because I felt close to vomiting for the entire period so ate little. Many of the symptoms the long haulers are reporting have nothing to do with respiratory system damage. Some have blood clots in various parts of their body. Some report headaches. There are many other complaints reported.
