I know David Lat, we’re not close but we knew each other years ago in the legal world. His case got a lot of publicity, and he at least used to be a pretty regular runner.
A friend of mine knows David Lat as well.
I had COVID for two weeks.
I’m not running 60, 70 mile weeks anymore, maybe 15-20 on a busy week. I do more HIIT and weights now for strength training but still love to run.
It wasn’t the sickest I’ve ever been by any means but it lasted quite some time. And the 10 days afterwards felt like I was living at altitude, getting winded doing simple things like carrying groceries and going up the stairs.
Same here. I am pretty sure my husband and I had it mid March. We are both runners. We were sick for about 12 days, and it took another 10 after that to get back to 100%. We both had a bad cough and extremely tight chests. My fever didn't get much above 101, but his got to about 102.5 for a few days. Moderate fatigue. I had the flu about 5 years ago and this was not as bad for me as that. I felt bad, but it was not the end of the world.
We did not get tested. We never felt we were in danger of needing anything other than home recovery. 5 of my husband's coworkers also got sick at that time, and one of their wives tested positive, so we were presumed positive. Based on the personal accounts I have read from others who have had it and recovered, our cases matched up pretty much exactly.
I did not run while sick, or for about 2 weeks after, but now I am back to my usual pace and mileage and feel great.
