The writing is on the wall. It will be near impossible for candidates to campaign, for the conventions to be held, etc. the olympics got moved to 2021, why not the election? I’m predicting by mid-June the announcement will be made.

It would take a 2/3 bipartisan effort in Congress to change anything about the election.
That won't happen.
You will have Trump calling the election illegitimate long before the election. That's for sure.
Definitely cancelled. It would be irresponsible to hold an election while people are locked down and quarantined. We should also not force vulnerable octogenarians like Scranton Joe to hold campaign rallies that might exceed 10 people against the CDC's guidance.

COVID-19 pandemic will decline sharply in the next 3-4 weeks, leading to a 3-4 month recovery period where the market will make some dramatic jumps.
Deaths will be a small fraction of the 100-200k+ numbers being thrown around earlier, making the current administration’s reactions seem life-saving. Trump will build his campaign on these results and his supporters will come out in record numbers.
Left-leaning, yet cynical, individuals like myself will not turn out to vote in key states. Trump wins again.
It’s a bummer, but it’s the way they planned it, so it’s the way it will go.

I'm afraid you are both correct.

So you’d rather put people at risk in the name of politics rather than seeing our representatives the responsible decision by postponing the election. Also, no matter side wins in your hypothetical Nov election scenario the other one would call it illegitimate which is also not good for our country.

Nope. He can just convince states with a republican controlled state legislature to just assign the electors directly. There are enough states with a republican controlled legislature to get him to a majority of the electoral college. No congressional action needed.
Not saying that is going to happen, but it is a possibility.

Trying to re-read my post where I said that I wanted people to risk their health to vote.
Nope.
I said Congress wouldn't agree to change anything.

I stand corrected although I maintain it would be very irresponsible to hold the election in 2020, an event predicated on months upon months of crowds getting together.

There is talk about the election being all mail in votes and I don't see why it can't be done online.
If there is no election, there will be no president or vice-president as of 1/20/2021. It doesn't matter what Trump has to say about it. Certainly, no president at all would be an improvement, but here is an article outlining the potential process:

Yeah... what could possibly go wrong?
If I'm allowed to file my taxes online then I should be allowed to vote online.

We aren't talking about on App in Idaho.
It seems doable to me. SS#, Address and DL# can all be cross-checked to ensure only vote. Of course, it might not be bullit proof from Russian hackers.

What would stop people from voting for their friends? Like let’s say I have 5 friends who don’t care at all about politics and they say sure go ahead and vote for me, here’s my info. Isn’t that the entire reason we have in person voting?!
We will just grant Trump a 5th year and have election in 21.

That could have been done with mail-in votes in previous elections.
Deaths are not going to be a fraction of that. Almost 800 died today and are running at something like 20% growth per day. I hope that there are universal wise shutdowns for the next month to slow down growth in cases a great deal.
As a liberal who hates Trump, I do indeed it’s cancelled because it will give us more time to find a real candidate because we’re going to get slaughtered if we put Dimentia Joe Biden up there.
Pretty sure there were even elections during the civil war.

We are dealing with Dementia Donald as we speak.
