right now, it appears as if all news is bad news. that's just the way it is, and it may be a while before things get better. so, i wanted to start a positivity/gratitude thread of sorts to give us all a small escape from the din. hopefully there are other LRCers like me out there who, while paying close attention to all happenings, want to be able to share some "good vibes" as the Gen Z folks call it to wade through the current times.
here's what i had in mind: if you feel so inclined, post on this thread things you're grateful for or a story about how this has changed your perspective on all things running and life.
on my end, i wake up every day that i'm healthy, and i'm simply grateful for that. every run i go on feels joyful and escapist - it's reminding me how and why i fell in love with the sport almost 15 years ago. i'm grateful for my ability to work remote, and i understand how lucky i am to have a job that allows me to do so. i will never take that for granted, nor will i complain about a busy day.
i feel hopeful when i see people of all ages acting in ways which show their commitment the common good - i know some still aren't doing their part, but there are certainly a lot of good eggs out there, too.
what about you? how has this altered your mindset/attitude (let's stick to the positives here, of course)?
your pal in running,
