This is why we can’t have nice things.
Crybaby Cuomo is too busy complaining during his 2-hour long ‘draft me instead of Biden disguised as a news conference’ to actually do something.
Holy crap. Unbelievable. Did they take the subway to get there too?
To be fair, though there are lots of people in the photos, they appear to be spread out pretty well for the most part except for what looks like household groups.
I have no issue with this. People need to be somewhere. And most can be trusted to respect and adhere to appropriate distancing while up and about.

This. Like many others, I was out and about yesterday (getting groceries, actually), and noticed that people were doing a solid job of social distancing. People in the grocery store were keeping a 2m gap while waiting to check out; even the panhandlers were keeping their distance (and with the drop in overall foot traffic, those folks are hurtin').
You really expect everyone to huddle inside their home indefinitely?
Be serious.
EMS and health care works, and many others, are going to work every day right now.

Agreed. No one is slowing down for anything there.
This is why nyc is so bad. Cuomo needs to use the police to clear out these people.
OP - NYC is the President and Jared’s hometown.
Please respect the administration, even if this looks bad for us.
In NYC there is a death every 9.1 minutes.
Does anyone have the stat on what that rate currently is?
Some New Yorkers aren’t the brightest.

I blame our leaders.

That's what I was thinking.
Someone in the media asked Trump about all the handshaking he is still doing and he acquitted himself nicely. Said he was only shaking the hands of folks who he deemed were 'incredible'.

Well, in the literal sense of the word most of his people are incredible...
New York cases may have stopped accelerating by percentage-wise, so there is a pretty decent chance right now that they are starting to have an effect. Even with a cap on percentage increases, they're still going to double cases in close to a week and deaths are going to double inside of a week.
Among countries, the U.S. is starting to appear to slightly decrease the rate of increase of cases, but deaths are still rising at close to 30% per day, and the increases are going to mean, from a much higher base, a lot of cases more and a lot of deaths. Of course, that could be thrown for a loop if increased testing uncovers a lot more cases. I suspect that coronavirus cases and deaths have been far underreported because of the lack of testing to this point. I see at the very least a fourfold increase in cases in the next three weeks and probably tenfold in deaths.
However, the logarithmic curve in Italy and Spain seems to have really bent, so that they are getting closer to their maxima, maybe twice as many as at the moment.
