Ummm I never denied the seriousness of COVID-19.
I'm a major hypochondriac. For example, I had a surgeon cut a lump out of my neck even though two different doctors checked it out and told me 100% it's just some fibrous thing probably an irritation from shaving.
I'm a numbers guy and the numbers tell me that our chance of having some serious medical complication from COVID-19 versus some other serious medical complication in our liftime is about 0.0000001%.
Let's take that $2 trillion and invest into research for cures for Colon Cancer, Parkisons, Breast Cancer, Alcheizmers, Epilepsy, Asthma, Lukemia, Diabetes, Liver Cancer, ...
Uh, 0.0000001% equates to 1 in a billion. There are 7+ billion people in the world so only 7 people should ever die worldwide according to your probability. Incorrect.

Let's save a $trillion or so because most of those are treatable/curable with diet. But since most people are too gullible and lazy to get off their carb/seed oil addiction, we must constantly drain our health care system and economy instead.

Wow that was awesome. Really shows how the media is beyond a joke at this point, and how this has been one of the biggest over-reactions in history.
I think organizations should boycott having events in the states that overreacted the most. Just to show that they can't treat people like crap and expect to be patronized.

Been hearing this for 5 weeks.
Still don't know a person who has it and still have not spoken to a person who knows anyone with the virus
My aunt has it and my nephew likely has it as well. My aunt knows she has it yet she's still going about her business like normal likely infecting hundreds. Her son and husband are spending all their time with her in close proximity so I'm sure they'll be very sick soon.

How does she know she has corona and not the flu or something else? Has she been tested?

She got tested for the flu and it was negative. The hospital ordered her to self quarantine and said that it's highly likely that she has it. Of course there's a small chance it's something else but I doubt it. She and her husband are nearly 70 so they may not survive. If this thread is still active in a week and things turn out bad I'll update.
You do realize that was not his worst case scenario? It was the worst case scenario being publicized in media. The reason he said the precautionary measures to avoid this worst case scenario we’re absurd is because those numbers had already been reached despite there not being data to prove it.
I’m beginning to realize why there is such a clear division on this subject, the believers are popsicles.
They live life with something up their as!
@jesseriley you're super nice and always know how to make me smile. Any chance you're single?

Odd that (1) the hospital did not test her and (2) that they let her go home.
Hope she is well

I don't know the exact circumstances as I am not close with her(she's a jerk obviously) and we have a really really large family. I know she initially got really sick about 5 days ago and although still sick she's good enough to go to supermarkets for now and leave whatever she has all over. Also she lives in NYC. It's pretty much a given that she has it I think.
But she did go to the hospital and they tested her for the flu (negative) but not the coronavirus and just let her leave? She must have been quite sick to have been at the hospital.

Jesseriley, your a school teacher aren’t you?
This guy's statistics are bunk. This is already a major problem. It is not a question of "will it get to be bad?" Look around, it already is. If thousand of people with concurring illnesses die because of COVID, that is a bad thing. If the healthcare system is overwhelmed by those sick people (it already is in many places), that is a bad thing. This is ALREADY HAPPENING in this country.

It's odd that my asking questions about a post would cause you to reflexively defend Israel.
Maybe if the American taxpayer was not shelling out $10 million dollars a day to the welfare queen, apartheid state we would be in a little better shape here in America?
