That is a rare find. Would you mind sharing the location?

It’s rare because it never happened.
I’m just glad we are led by a wise & compassionate Fuhrer who would never seek to divide us, nor would he use his short time left to destroy his people.

In locked down communities across the world, self-righteous new social justice warriors—militant New Age collectivists—are taking it upon themselves to behave like Red Guards on steroids, “enforcing” the proper “social distancing”, reporting on fellow individuals who “fail to comply”, demanding new police enforcement of this new “distancing” paradigms,

Hi Crook,
Fat boy’s a loser, baby!
Personally, I think it will be pence to the rescue near-term, god help us!
you can never be surprised by the number of dumb people in the world. in no US area does "shelter in place" mean you cant go outside or that you have to stay inside
Here's an idea: dig deep and try to find a kernel of empathy. You can surely understand why people are stressed about this. Whether you believe the neighbor's concern is justified or not, it is reasonable for people to be nervous. This illness is a death sentence for some.
Beyond that, the lack of national leadership on this issue means citizens need to step up and take care of one another. It sounds like this guy was over the top with yelling at you, but an active citizenry trying to take precautions to stem the danger is something to value here.
I think people should continue to run and workout if they want, but it is disheartening to read comments about running toward a person and coughing at them, just to show them how supposedly tough you are for not caring about the danger this virus puts people in.

I agree with that guy.
In that light, could you tell us what was your workout? That would actually be worth knowing on A RUNNING SITE.
FWIW, I have done two track workouts this week and run outside every other day this week and other weeks, for that matter, and have encountered nothing except friendly people or disinterested people.
Let's keep things in perspective, and there will always be people trying to rile others up (for whatever purposes), and those that misinterpret situations.
This is making people crazy. At work the other day we got a couple threatening calls from some guy. First time he told us “You won’t be open for long. F***ing idiots.” And the second time he called he immediately hung up when we picked up.
OP, tell us what your times are after you've caught the virus. That is, if you're not on a ventilator.

On my local friends and neighbors page the older folks were going nuts because a group of brother's were playing basketball on an open court. Another person tried to put it in perspective and she got shut down. By the end of the thread they were wishing death by Corona on these high school kids. I'm not worried but I'm really worried about these volatile people with their reptile brains going into panic overload. The ugliness in humanity showing loud and clear. ( Hoarding, greed, fear, finger pointing)
Interesting you mentioned basketball here is a quite sobering read about such incident just recently in NYC:

I live in the Seattle area (suburbs) and I've been running outside on the regular. I haven't had anyone give me a bad look and/or said anything negative. If anything, it's been the opposite. A lot more people are walking, running, riding bikes outside than normal. When I come accross anyone, I move off the sidewalk or move to the other side of the road. I've gotten nothing but friendly waves and/or smiles.
As for someone giving you a hard time, it might be amusing to run toward them and cough, but knotfromhere is correct, you could get charged with a felony, making a terrorist threat.

According to your fictitious story he screamed at you, but didn’t threaten you.

Good point. Running is a very worthwhile and fulfilling past time. But being able to communicate at a very basic level is essential. Perhaps this incident will help you in that realization. Please consider changing your focus during this time to improve your communication skills.
