I usually have to buy medium for tights so they are long enough. Short size depends on brand. I am same height and weight.
I used to wear mediums in college but now I've grown into larges because I only run about a quarter of what I used to.
I'm 5'9 155, and and I am kinda inbetween. Baggier smalls like Brooks fit, and my Craft are super snug but doable. But my Nike Challenger and BOA that fit at 145 pounds are too snug now, and I need mediums. I had to give them to a new home.
I would think at your height you'd want mediums just for the length (of the body, not necessarily the inseam).

What's your 5K PB? I have never seen anyone same height and weight as me thats amazing. I run in size 14 US trainers. Small tights are too tight for me, medium is good if it's thin but large if thick material. How about Nike brand shorts?

Thanks this is the kind of reply I was looking for. Nike seems to fit tight it's good to hear people buy mediums as I dropped 65 on some Nike Half Tights and chose medium as they didn't have small THEN they restocked small lol. I have some other Slazenger half tights size small that fit perfect.
Did you get bigger or taller? What did the shorts feel like when you had to give them away just too tight around the waist or did it feel uncomfortable other areas too. I can wear a 30 waist max smallest and 32 max biggest.
What do you mean by the body

You mean from behind

I got bigger, running a bit less, eating more and strength training. I'm nearly 40, so I'm not getting taller any time soon. I was a size 28 when the SMALL BOA and Nike Challenger fit, and am size 30 now.
In the body I mean length, but not inseam. Torso length, like crotch to waist distance. I fear the size small in BOA and Nike may fit like super low rise in the waist at your height.

Forgot to answer this. The waist was snug but worked. I felt like they were too right around the hips and crotch, like literally at the widest part around my butt cheeks and privates (funny way to say it but hey). I'm not modest - I run in tights so I don't worry about showing too much. But they were just snug through the middle there where it was tight and uncomfortable across the front of the shorts.
For comparison, my small Craft are almost like this now, but they have a compression liner which helps. My small Asics split shorts are like the Craft, just a hair larger than the Nike and BOA. My small Brooks still have plenty of room. Small Under Armor are also fine. I have a pair of Lululemon 3" (they gave them away for free in a Strava challenge years ago) in Medium (they never have smalls for whatever reason), and they are super baggy - I could probably do a small in those - in fact so baggy the liner is worthless and I wear compression briefs underneath.
I buy shorts that are the right length and fit comfortably in the waist. I disregard how the liner fits. Then, I cut out the liner, being careful not to cut out any pockets, and wear performance briefs instead.
The advantage of this approach is that no matter which pair of running shorts I pick out of my drawer, I know the brief is going to fit exactly the way I want it to. I can also buy linerless gym shorts for $9-$14 at TJ Maxx and use them as running shorts. TJ Maxx sells a package of 3-4 performance briefs for $9.99 to $12.99. I've bought Puma, Adidas, Spyder, Body Armor, and other brands there.
If you don't mind wearing boxer briefs, this is really easy to do. If you want a bikini brief in the summer, they are harder to find. I usually buy a couple of pairs of Asics briefs for summer. If you wash them and don't put them in the dryer, they'll last a couple of years.
I wear 7" small because I have a 29" waist. Never worn tights or pants because I get too hot even in the winter.
6ft. 150lbs. , 30" waist. I buy small shorts and medium half tights. Medium shirts are too big in the waist and small half tights too snug in the legs/crotch.
I'm 5'4", and got a 29" waist. I wear size small in Nike/Adidas, and medium in NB and some other brands. I like them tight, but not too tight. They are meant to provide some minor compression. Tights and tight shorts should fit where they don't fall down or otherwise get in the way. I'd rather have tights that ride up a little, than to keep slouching down. Ideally, if they fit right, they should be very comfortable.
5'7" or 5'8" about 120-125lbs, and ~26in or 27in waist. I get an XS when I can but usually have to go with S because XS can be hard to find. S tights usually end up being kinda long, but S split shorts usually fit fine.

Congrats on looking like a girl.
Definitely a true medium guy!
6’0 165-170 with size 30-32 waist depending on brand.
Usually if I get smalls I can pull them up around the waste and they aren’t uncomfortable but they are too tight around the legs/crotch and u can see my pp so not the move

6'0" 150lbs. Medium in Tracksmith and most other brands. Small usually feels too tight.
I'm 6'2" 142lb and I always choose mediums at nike and adidas. I like their quality and how long their shorts last, so I would totally recommend them.
