Gunnison, Alamosa or Leadville. In January. It would be the toughest team ever.

Have them 2 weeks prior to the games so the athletes can train to peak just once.

Have qualifying start as soon as possible. Maybe even some Fall track meets or let athletes use even older qualifying standards.
Have the trials in mid-late March.
Carson Center in LA (now called the Dignity Health Sports Park)
Or Univ of California - San Diego. They have nice weather year round.
UCSD doesn't have enough seats, and isn't large enough to bring in extra bleachers.
If the Olympics are in late April, early May, USA trials should be in March and definitely should be in a warm city.
LA would work, but I think it'd be a good chance to have an event in a new city, say, Phoenix.
Arizona State has a very fast track and that facility could easily accommodate a lot of temporary bleachers. If you've seen the stuff they put up at the Phoenix Open golf tournament, they could easily put in temporary seating that could get more than 15,000 into that facility.
I don't see that happening. How would athletes get ready for a spring Olympics? There are no outdoor meets. Then, if they somehow managed to peak for a spring Olympics what would happen to the post-Olympics season? Athletes can only hold a peak for so long. They could maybe do a few Diamond League meets but not a full season. Moving the Olympic Trials would also be a problem since Eugene paid money to USATF to hold the Trials. USATF would have to give the money back, assuming a new Trials city could be found -- not an easy task.

Once the date for the Olympics is set, the athletes will adjust their training. Also, I wouldn't worry about Eugene recouping the money it paid to host the Trials, even if they aren't held there this time around. They will likely parlay this whole mess into another couple bonus years of hosting trials or USA championships in the future. With a spring Olympics, we might see some new meets pop up in areas like Australia or Jamaica or other places that are warm in the winter, just to get the athletes some competition as they ramp up towards Trials. Even in the U.S., you could have meets in Florida, or California or Arizona in December, January or February. If the Olympics are in the spring, things will be different and weird, that's for sure.
World Athletics would never go for a spring Olympics because it would mess up the entire track season. There are meets before and after the Olympics if they are held in the summer, but if the Olympics were held in the spring the Diamond League season would be wrecked. There's too many additional problem caused by holding the Olympics at a different time of the year. Don't forget, track isn't the only sport in the Olympics, there's 32 other sports that may have their seasons disrupted. I'm positive they will hold the Games in its traditional midsummer spot.
High altitude and possible cold weather would rule that out as a likely site. Maybe Hawaii instead--would give them an opportunity to be in the limelight--halfway to Japan as well.

Agreed. Warm with plenty of seating. Larger city. Easy access from the airport.
This is a good question. I like Rojo’s answer, although Texas would be good too as it’d be close enough I’d drive down there. I’m cheering for a spring Olympics, too!
Interested to see what happens.

this.
A 200m banked track is a dangerous place for a high-stakes 10,000m race...
Heck, it's a dangerous place for a high-stakes 800m race...
Must be outdoors, 400m or 440y track.

And where will you hold the discus, javelin & the hammer?
That said, I'd love to have the hammer, discus and the javelin contested at the same time as a distance race inside the BU indoor track.

Ther is no chance in the world that the OT will not be held at Hayward Field. For example I paid $????? For all-sessions tickets and the Eugene organizing committee is in no position to reimburse me and the thousands of ticket holders that bought the entire slate of OT tickets.
Eugene Trials 2021
If we have it at BU we wouldn't have to worry about weather. Let's have rabbits for every race too. Top 3 time trialers.
And what's up with the weather anyways. Whenever it's 90 degrees outside it benefits literally everyone but the distance runners and all the distance races are slow, no one cares, but let it be 55 degrees and people are like "the sprinters are going to pull a hamstring". Like last year at Brussels and it was cold and people were going crazy over how the sprints were going to be slow and Noah Lyles couldn't chase a fast 200m time. Eugene is not that cold in late March, fans aren't going to suffer. If it rains so what, it's not like it doesn't rain in the Northwest during the summer.
If the Olympics were in May, the indoor season would be great
What about UNF in Jacksonville, FL? They already host NCAA regionals every few years. Good facility. Good weather that time of year.

They have seating for like 15,000. Good idea.
Updates will be posted as soon as possible on TrackTown20.com and USATF.org.
