Not quite. MD here, I've got plenty to do. At least until I get too sick to work. I'm just hoping I don't die or have my lungs turn to Swiss cheese.

PT's in particular have high debt to income ratios especially. There's going to be a huge student loan debt crisis in these two fields.
Any other industries that stick out to you?
Basically the entire entertainment industry is taking hit right now, since everything is shut down. Same with fitness and sports related places. I do side work as brand ambassador (people who hand out samples/work booths at event) and that whole industry is dead for right now. People who do that full time are out of work, but many can't get unemployment since they are independent contractors or only work very part time as employees of several different agencies.

gotta think about NYU - very little liquid cash, wonder if they'll be selling some property this summer to keep it going
What about hotels/motels?
And yes about hookers. LOL. Strippers, too.

I'm sure they will as they learn how much they can do remotely.
No disruption in the system, though. They still have everything running remotely. All tuition still paid.
The way many of these companies first responded to the crisis in Europe was criminal. Frankly, I'm hoping an EF does go up in smoke. Ridiculous profiteering on a non-essential service. Ever see their palace corporate headquarters in Boston?

My 7th grade son's school trip to DC was cancelled but because this is an "act of god" the company is not returning the money paid to them unless you bought their insurance policy. We bought it so we hope to get the money back. Someone is collecting money.
EF? WorldStrides? Contrary to what most people think, no one is collecting money. Even the big tour companies are losing money, even if they have insurance. Their vendors aren't giving them the money back. Most are offering vouchers - you can see your spot to future students, or are just postponing trips. Everyone is in the same terrible situation boat, even these large companies, some of which may still go bankrupt.
We've definitively seen the US can get by without a competent president. Should just make the position an ambassador type job. Fill it with beloved characters as they age. Or that hero dog would fill in nicely. Let the real guiding of the country come from competent state-level politicians. Not that idiot from Texas, though. He should be the next soylent green ingredient.
Hey man I hear ya. I might have something that can help, how can I contact you?

With everyone exercising (many for the first time in their lives), surely there is a large need for PT’s ... if they can overcome the challenge of virtually diagnoses and showing how to do self-treatment.

I left a sales job to go into teaching. I am feeling good about my ability to get a job next fall.
My dad on the other hand owns a swimming pool business... Hires college kids seasonally every summer. Thankfully no one to lay off with only 8 FT employees but his company will make almost nothing this summer since this hit right when pools should open. Most people are just going to leave them dormant for the summer I would expect.

Software development is a good career--go to a bootcamp and if you are a STEM-y guy, you'll be fine. It is $12k or so though, at least in Ohio.
But you get a job starting at least at $50k in Ohio or greater, depending on expertise.
A 10-12 week bootcamp does not provide one with much expertise beyond the ability to search stack overflow for copypasta recipes.
Small companies are getting free money for 8 weeks of payroll/payroll benefits for employees making under $100k annually, rent expense (or mortgage insurance expense) and utilities. So I think the only reason that small private practices would need to have layoffs is for employees making over 100k/year.
where in the world did you see that?
