The entire African continent has been largely unaffected by COVID-19. In East Africa, it’s practically non-existent.

Not countries known for their testing.
People don't really spend a lot of time inside tightly packed air conditioned buildings or airplanes there either.

Post of the day.
Well done.

You do not know that is the reason. There are many Ethiopians and Kenyans living in apartments in their large cities.

Lol yep.
We are simply not seeing mass deaths. World wide we have seen 17,235 coronavirus deaths. In comparison, America alone had 34,200 flu deaths in 2018.
Could the deaths ramp up to apocalyptic levels? Maybe. But we are seeing the death rate drop around the world.

I doubt that is the reason. When Africans die from other diseases/viruses. the entire world knows. Your post is a smart a s s post.
African countries actually have a lot of experience with infectious diseases and are pretty good at handling them. African countries have been on alert for coronavirus and vigilant about travel restrictions, testing and containment. Russia is also a big success story. 149 million people. 495 cases of coronavirus despite sharing a vast border with China. Very early on, Russia closed its border with China and closely monitored people coming into the country from places affected by coronavirus. They tested like crazy and did contact tracing and quarantines to prevent positives from turning into an outbreak. And that shows that the coronavirus outbreaks in the US and Europe were really conscious decisions by governments to prioritize short term stock market trends over effective infectious disease control measures.
I'm guessing this is due to several reasons:
* Lack of testing, as already mentioned
* Age distribution yields fewer people likely to die - Ages 65+: Kenya (2.5%), U.S. (16%), Italy (22%)
* Limited exposure of people from these countries to the international community where covid-19 is widely present
* Prophylactic effect of malaria related drugs

No, more likely cold climate global city disease.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52017834Though I'm starting to think giving the ridiculously low death rates/infection rates in Eastern Europe, that Slavs might have some kind of resistance to it.
There was one death in Kenya. A bunch of youths socially distanced themselves from an old drunk guy who they thought had covid19 by beating him to death.

Because Russia doesn’t spread misinformation, right? LOL....those fukcs are probably 90% infected.

Good reasoning.

+1
I saw that there is a list of over 70 available drugs that are being investigated as possible treatments for this. Not all 'anti-viral' drugs either. It would be funny if EPO was found somehow to be effective against the virus.
Or maybe it's the rat poison.
Sorry, meant to quote Precious Roy regarding Russia.

What specific stat are you trying to use to say the "death rate" is dropping? New cases vs. new deaths? Not looking at any time lag from diagnosis to death or ?
What we have seen, and continue to see, is the total number of deaths keep increasing each day. Yesterday saw an increase of 13% in total number of deaths (1,873 deaths). The day before also saw an increase in 13% of total number so deaths (1,628). And so on and so on. More people are dying every day.
Everyone can cherry pick stats - for example, in Italy there have been 15,146 cases that have closed - meaning the sick person either recovered or died. Of those 15,146 cases 6,820 died. That's 45%. Would it be fair of me to argue that the coronavirus has a 45% death rate in Italy?
More people are dying every day. Talk about car crash deaths if that makes you sleep better, it's not going to change the truth.

It is likely a reason. Traditionally, residences in Africa, South America and Asia rely on passive air conditioning (open windows, houses built above the ground, etc.). Africa has about 5% air conditioning penetration, as opposed to about 90% in the US. One of the big drivers to global warming in the past twenty years is an increase in the number of air conditioning units in places like China and India.
Yes. My husband, Idris Elba, and I have both tested positive proving that we are white. So very white. If we weren’t white how did we get coronavirus? Explain that?
