With seasons cancelled, there's no track to train for. Any coach worth their salt is encouraging their athletes to start a huge base-building phase for XC. We will see a lot of early-season burnouts this fall, but we are also going to see people in the best XC fitness of their life because of all the mileage they can put in. For people who can get in good training right now, it's almost like a free redshirt now that they'll get this season back.
