I got screwed pretty badly by the virus. I understand it's a lot worse for other people and I should be thankful but I still don't know what to do.
Heres the deal:
My PR in the 800 last year was a 2:09, 1600 PR was 4:49.
I did not want my track and field career to be done so I put a crap ton of work in over the last year. I improved a heck of a lot over the offseason and am now in about 2:00-2:03 and 4:35ish shape. I've been in contact with the coach and he told me that if I went sub 2 and/or sub 4:30 during the season I would be invited to practice but would have to earn a spot on the team from there, if I were to break 1:57 and 4:25 together, or run sub 4:20 or sub 1:56 I would have grabbed a pref. walk on.
With a good peak, I realistically think I could have at least hit the sub 2 and 4:30 standard and then put in the work during the off season, but now I'm stuck with these PRs. What should I do?
