DIscus.
Yes. Why would you want to get into debt?
Trump is paying my rent, right?
Yes.
Unless the world agrees to postpone 1 April 2020 and enter an emergency calendar until pandemic is over. (All these trillions of bailouts is essentially that: rolling over maturities.)
Rent? About to send in my mortgage payment due May 1st.
Nope. Don’t rent. I will make the mortgage payments on my houses along with insurance, taxes, utilities and maintenance.
This article makes it sound like many more tenants aren't paying than what I read about on RE investor forums. The real estate investors are pretty worried about May, especially with the UI backlog and the apparent delays in stimulus checks. I guess to be fair I should have ask if people are paying their mortgages.
We did not pay our office rent as the building was closed. They’ll have a hard time legally enforcing payment when we were not allowed to occupy our space that we paid to occupy.
I have a rental condo. My tenant isn't paying this month and I doubt he'll pay for three months. AZ.
Viejo that sucks. How did they explain not paying rent?
Rent? Nope. I have my mortgage set to autopay. It's so much easier to track.
Yeah I'm gonna pay cuz I always got the cash but if I dont get my money from the govt there's gonna be repercussions. On a side note I'm going to the gun store next week.
What exactly is the argument for not paying rent that is owed for an apartment/house? For commercial property, an argument could be made that the space is unusable and the tenant thus should not be responsible for paying rent on an office that they aren't allowed to occupy. But COVID-19 doesn't prevent you from using your home, so why would you not pay your rent/mortgage if owed?
I'm just not seeing the nexus between the COVID-19 shutdown and the residential rent strike.
We paid rent.
Can we pay forever without economy? No.
Co. Is 2nd largest renter in Empire State bldg and did not pay rent.
A big problem is small business insurance saying that Covid is not a property damage that discontinues business.
Another problem is administration inability to get correct rules out to banks so small biz could qualify.
You’re asking this question on Letsrun, where every poster has a secure job that pays hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and they all ran a 5K under 14 minutes.
No one is skipping rent or mortgage here.

Too late to go to the gun store. You can buy a gun, but ammo has been sold out for weeks. I just placed an online order for 800 rounds on backorder with a shipping date of April 8-15. It probably won't happen until July, assuming this is over by July.

Because landlords who rent their properties are complete and utter parasites to society. This practice of renting a property to have someone else pay off most of the mortgage for that property and yet have no right of ownership needs to be banned forever. This is not the middle ages; we no longer live in a feudal society. If you live in a home and you are paying for it then you should absolutely have right of ownership of that home. There should be no debate about this.
You have the right to buy anything you want. The problem is no one would offer a mortgage to lowlifes who don't pay their bills.
My mortgage is paid about 2 years ahead. I'm still paying though. I really want to stay ahead.
