The money, and remember this is just a portion (1/4 to 1/2) of the roughly $1 trillion they've talked about spending, should go to those who really need it, those who are not getting paid because of unemployment, and then it could be a total adequate to keep them going longer. If you think about it, $1k would not go very far. $3k might last for a month for a family of four if they were pecunious.

Oh, that's a bit much. I have a family of four, a mortgage and just paid off a car on 2500 a month take home. 3k is silly. If people would have some sort of financial sense, it'd help immensely.

Shotgun is good. A decent 12 gauge that is designed for home defense.
Forget the 9mm. Get something a little bigger that is more effective in stopping the threat like a .40S&W or .45ACP.
A couple of options would be to pay down high credit card bills that you have.
Another would be to buy some of the stock that has fallen over the past two weeks. You'll just have to figure out what stock(s) to buy and when to make your purchase.
I expect all liberals will tear theirs up just like crazy Nancy Pelosi did. Or give it to the less fortunate like they do with their extra money.
