Anyone else just see this? I couldn't believe how made I got.
CNN put a camera on the waterfront path in San Francisco. Dr. Gupta joined the show and he got pissed that people were out exercising and not taking this seriously. Some were just walking about. Some running, some biking. Exactly what you would expect on a waterfront path. I saw one couple holding hands (that seems fine to me as you are allowed to break social distance with people in your immediate household).
San Francisco has a "shelter in place" edict. That means stay in your house unless to go to the grocery or get essential or to get some exercise. With all bars and restaurants closed there isn't any other reason for people to go outside anyway.
These people were at the most walking groups of 2. Passing each other. The threat of contagion from this seems almost nil yet Gupta and the host were going nuts. "They are not taking this seriously" Is this just virtue signalling? Or am I missing something. Exercise IS ALLOWED.
Meanwhile I heard that mayor or NYC wants to put a "shelter in place" edict in place and the Governor won't let it happen. I applaud the governor. Some scientist can tell me if I'm wrong but if we keep our distance why can't people go outside? Restaurants and everything else where people could congregrate are closed in NY. Letting them go outside seems perfectly fine to me. What am I missing?
