And the Asians Chinese who are doing this are doing it for status...to show people how earthly they are
You sir, are carrying the MORAN virus
Morrissey had it right on these people, I'll say no more.
I'm not that convinced it's truly how it started.
Look at what facilities are in Wuhan.
The National Biosafety Laboratory (which is a level 4 facility).
The Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory is the only lab in China designated for studying dangerous pathogens like SARS and Ebola.
It opened in 2015.
All it would take is one person, for whatever reason, to release something like that locally - and what better place than a market?
Outside of nuclear war
This is the biggest threat to human existence...pandemic disease
Look at history
Black Death
Typhus
Malaria
Smallpox
Spanish flu
Swine flu
Sars
Mers
Aids hiv
Etc
Etc
Etc
So many traced back to wild animals or livestock or insects
It’s no wonder military powers invest in biological weapons...
Look at the devastation that these things bring

It’s not a bio wep, moran.
Biological weapons leave the theatre of conflict in 5-7 days to allow invading forces in.
Corona virus will be here a little bit longer.

Pretty sure they were selling the lab animals to markets after they were done with them to make a few extra bucks.
You do realize that swine flu and Spanish Flu started in the US
too much zhang in the site

He's right that this Coronavirus originated in Chinese wet markets, and conditions there are very conducive for the spread of viruses from animals to humans. The issue is close proximity of different types of animals and unsanitary conditions. It's a question of affluence as well. In many African countries, you have the same situation, but you can't blame poor people for eating whatever meat they can get their hand on.
China must indeed change. They're becoming rich enough so that these kinds of markets are not a necessity anymore.

And yet you fail to realize that neither of those viruses have anything to do with a potentially genetically modified viral strain released into a food market by selling live lab test subject animals for human consumption. I don't think we do that here in the good ol US of A.
Ty
This highlights the whole issue on whether you want to do a front end preventative measure or a back end measure?
It seems like the back end measure is disrupting the entire globe...
It seems like the front end measure is less restrictive to the entire globe
Just saying...
Mass global disruption
Vs inconvience to consumers
And inconvenience to merchants
Vs mass global disruption
This is total insanity out there...
Countries on lockdown
Mass cancellations
Plunging markets
Closings
Food shortages
Total insanity
Again front end measures vs back end measures?
And let’s not forget that a fatal pandemic is right up there with nuclear war or world war as one of the most destructive forces jeopardizing everyone’s survival
Back end measures or front end
Global shutdown lockdown chaos vs banning sale of wild exotic animals wet markets

China doesn't care. Their double plus good leader Winnie the Pooh will quarantine them and all good.
Worked in Beijing for 3 yrs a few years back. I can make a few observations.
* The Chinese on the whole continue to hold on to their superstitions, so the belief on the benefits of
eating exotic animals will die hard. I used see people selling hawks and other various live birds on the street and wondered why anyone would want buy one.
* The level cleanliness in the streets was appalling. As I gathered from talking to my Chinese colleagues it was ok to throw trash since someone else will eventually clean it up. Of course, this someone doesn't exist. The smell of an open sewer was over-powering at times.
* The government is just as happy to have people die since they have a population problem. The government controls the tobacco, which kills a million people a year along with being very profitable. I doubt very much this Wuhan Flu will match those numbers.
* The West initiated industrialization and its concomitant environmental degradation. The Chinese now are the world's largest carbon emitters and will no doubt finish it. Banning plastic bags or driving a Tesla is not going to cut it when 1.3 billion have no interest in protecting the environment. Again pollution will kill more there than this virus.
Make no mistake, I really admire the Chinese and enjoyed my time learning there the language and culture. But they need some how to clean up their act over there.
The people eating the meats there are not wealthy.
