Oh sure, in the hottest time of the year, highest humidity. That's smart. They better start it early in the day.
Instead of the typical training for Boston at the worst part of winter, get to do it in the heat of summer. Good times.
Yeah I’ve busted my ass all winter, possibly ready to PR, and now it’s on a date I can’t even make in September. Although, I don’t run well in the heat, so maybe just as well. Anyway, I’d love to qualify for 2021.....I just need to find a marathon that’s not f*king cancelled!
Got curious and looked up the weather the past 4 years on September 14.
2016 - 88 degrees, 45% Humidity
2017 - 82 degrees, 56% Humidity
2018 - 72 degrees, 84% Humidity
2019 - 72 degrees, 70% Humidity

Praying there's an option to carry entry over to 2021 instead without paying again. Scheduled to do Berlin in Sept and I want to do a springtime Boston Marathon really. It's tradition
I'm thinking I'll just pace this 10-15 minutes slower than I'm in shape for, then look to run a fast marathon late in the fall.
I don't get the obsession with having this on a Monday. They're talking about creating a state holiday to accommodate it, like schools and businesses are going to want to close for another day after all the disruption this spring/summer. This has got to be the hotel/restaurant/travel industry driving this decision. Or if this is to keep the race within their traditional qualification window, that's even dumber still.
Ain't doing it. The virus will not be contained by September.

You are part of the problem with the coronavirus.
Too much people travelling around the world for fancy reasons spreading the virus and disease.
You are not elite.... stay in your country and only do local races....
People who travel kill the planet, the ecology and in addition spread disease.
Shut up Greta. Mind your own business

It’s the original ticket issue date, not the date you were originally supposed to travel. So you have one year from the day you originally bought the tickets.
it could be a problem as 2016 and 2017 were very warm and neither day was over 70 degrees if I am remembering properly.
Based on those two years, I wouldn't want to run if it were over 70 degrees.
