Ask Italie if it's just the flu.

At the time I posted, the CCSE at Johns Hopkins had it at 33, it is now 43. Posts are time stamped and I assume you realize numbers change and them doing so does not make the original post fictional.
Also, you cannot read because I never said "it's just the flu."
And.. nice job deflecting the bigger issue of there being 20,000+ flu deaths. You demonstrate my point exactly. The difference between 33 and 41 is significant to you but 20,000 is not.
Please acquire a brain before you hurt yourself.

My sister is an ER doctor. I don't think they're freaking out. I think they've resigned themselves to what they expect is coming. She said they all are aware they will likely be among the first who are infected, then they will have to get back to work once they're healed enough.
There will be a shortage of doctors. Student doctors will be thrown into the deep end, retired doctors will return to work.
Are my numbers wrong on this?
China has a population of around 1.4 billion people.
About 80,000 are diagnosed with COVID-19.
That means a total of .0057% of the population has been infected if these figures are correct.
The death total is around 3,000 in China.
That equates to .0002%
Someone please correct these figures- doesn't seem possible.

Italy, 3 weeks ago: 5 known covid cases.
Italy, now: over 1,000 covid deaths, too many critical patients to treat, and each day brings more newly confirmed cases than the last despite severe containment measures.
We will find out how much damage the virus ends up causing soon enough, but at the moment, it's obviously " an actual threat."
In other countries, thousands are being tested in a matter of hours. Here, the presidential administration restricts testing, so even sick people can not determine whether they have this illness or not. Why? So the number of American cases look small and people like the OP can make inane arguments about the flu affecting more people than COVID.
Who are the sheep here? If you don't believe this is a bigger problem than the seasonal flu, then good luck, because sheering season has arrived.

It means .0057% of the population tested positive. Nobody knows how many were infected.
Why wouldn't it be possible? Look at all the countries where new cases simply stopped occurring. Likely hundreds of millions of Chinese had flu symptoms this season (in the US it's about 1 out of 7 people) and how many of them can we suppose got tested for this new virus? Possibly there were already millions of covid cases among those that nobody ever counted.
In any case, the world has yet to lose even one of every million people to this epic plague. Not even one in a million, after three months.
Cue the next idiot saying "oh yeah but exponential growth, in another two weeks it will be 1 in 1000." It won't.

China has terrible air pollution, AND they've been spraying people with organophosphate pesticides!
Then they showed people twitching and jerking and said it was caused by the virus, of which I am skeptical.

You are the sheep and you cannot read. I did not say that the flu affects more people in the USA than COVID-19, I said it kills more people than COVID-19. If you were smart enough to follow along, it doesn't matter how many people have been infected by COVID-19, I happen to believe it's already in the millions. What you are too stupid to realize is that you are again proving my point. If so many people are infected with COVID,-19, far more than has been tested or reported as you seem to believe, how come so few have died? Do you believe we are hiding deaths and people are dropping dead without anyone knowing? Why are we saying it's so deadly with a 3% death rate and at the same time saying it's bigger than we know and there are way more infections. Both cannot be true. With the flu, there are dead people... lots of them. 20,000 is more than 43, that makes it more deadly. It's called elementary school math.
I swear to God people are getting stupider and stupider, and you should be their leader!

*The flu has killed more people than COVID 19 SO FAR.
Regardless of what you believe, this new coronavirus hasn’t hit every nook and cranny. Influenza has. This is a novel virus that has a LONG way to go. We’ve already seen that it has a higher fatality rate than the flu (some scientists say 20x higher; conservative estimates put it at 10x higher) but it isn’t everywhere yet. And if it does reach everywhere all at the same time, it would be a disaster.

2600? We will hit that in 2 days or less.
According to the N.Y. Times we are at 2110 now.
