Good job slipping this one in there even though it had nothing to do with COVID-19. I bet most people didn't even notice and now think the virus causes subway fires.

What is the point of all of your posts? Are you trying to make one? Or are you just bored because you are stuck at home? Please clarify without using a link.... thanks.

I'm just documenting the collapse and, by doing so, people's reactions to it.

Have we collapsed yet?
Super anecdotal so don't draw any conclusions, but we just got back from spouse's visit to both Kaiser (and Overlake) Hospitals in Seattle area for a GI ER visit - not COVID related, more of a Mama Cass thing to tell you the truth. Pretty empty, not busy at all today, nurses joking around. Did not feel overrun in the slightest. Of course, the ICUs may paint a much different picture but we were totally surprised at the contrast between the expectation we had and the reality - on the ER side at least.

Apparently you missed the part about no links.
Documenting for who and what purpose?
My reaction is your continued posting is annoying and not helping this crisis in any way what so ever. Please put that in your report. (You won't hear from me again either... cheers!)

You shouldn't assume that it is unrelated.

BETTER SHUT THIS POST DOWN TOO BECAUSE IT WAS WRONG. 10 DAYS? 17 AND THE HOSPITALS ARE HALF EMPTY.

NIMBY = Not In My Back Yard.
"Just the flu, bro" logic turned upon itself while trying to minimize the crisis, and explained part of why second order effects will magnify the crisis.

You may have misread. I didn't predict anything. The previous person said something dismissive about how low the number of deaths would be "at this rate", and I just calculated out for them what the number would actually be if this rate continued.
There was a prediction thread maybe a week ago where I predicted by April 21st an optimistic 30,000 deaths in the USA, but with a lot of uncertainty -- a range of 20,000 to 200,000. We really don't know how this will go and how much stay-at-home orders will help.
Boom. Tell them how to read. And how to spell — it’s precedent.
