I understand I forgot to type in a to. That is really not that important.

what are other schools doing that have moved to online classes like UW and Stanford? Are their student athletes still going to practice? With the current policies we have no Stanford Invite, Payton Jordan, etc. There is a very real possibility of NCAA Track and Field being cancelled or at the very least extremely limited.
NYT: “ An email sent by the dean of Yale College on March 3 caught the attention of some students when it said, “And if you will be traveling home for spring break, consider bringing any items you will want with you if your return to campus is delayed.””
If Yale students are asked to stay home after spring break then there’s another school with no spring sports.
Sorry to hear about that. If you are truly dedicated to Track and/or XC or whatever sport you play, I would recommend joining a club team or training on your own or with a private coach. But at the same time, how long is it going to be before those club teams shut down? Is it worth the money/time? Those are just a few questions I would ask before making a decision. Whatever your decision is, just make sure it’s well-educated.
When you close down the administration pandemic office and then shut down a good deal of the CDC budget for such cases, and then you don't have the tests ready with two months notice at least and drop the ball every step of the way, then you rightly get blamed. This thing is ten to 25 times as deadly as seasonal flu and you have the ignorant president saying it's just like the flu. We are going into worldwide recession because of this thing and it's not because of liberals spreading fear. China, Italy, South Korea, Japan, and many more. It's in almost 100 countries now and the death toll will be akin to the Spanish flu, the Dow and S and P and oil prices have been crashing, and those aren't liberal traders and left-wing democrat leaders (Putin, the Saudi) crashing those markets. Fortunately, the recession should be brief but the vaccine is not supposed to be ready in time for next flu season, so the death toll will likely be much greater next year than this year as we get to the last month's of coronavirus. The elderly with health conditions are going to be at high risk and don't forget that that means a large percentage of the leaders of society, politicians, the wealthy, and CEO's! Already, Iran's leadership was hit hard; the head of Port Authority. This isn't about panic; it is about limiting the spread of the disease, which is possible only by limiting travel, business, and education for a considerable time until a vaccine is ready and herd resistance has begun.
Personally I believe it's not trumps fault its more Chinas' fault for not being clear or honest on the virus since it started. This is a good reason for America to stop doing business in China.
Train on your own and run with some buddies from your team, and just sign up for a few road races or maybe run unattached at a college meet.
I sympathize with losing track season, as any way you slice it, that will be disappointing, but shutting your school down is not going to be a big deal in the long run. One of the great things about track is that you can continue to run on your own You aren't losing your ability to train and enjoy running. I know this isn't the same as competing in races, but it is important to try to illuminate the opportunities in these kinds of changes, otherwise, you will be left only with wallowing in despair.
Responsible societies take steps to try to avoid massive outbreaks of illnesses. People need to get beyond the bipartisan BS around this issue and think clearly about how to help keep themselves, friends, neighbors, and even enemies healthy.

My school is going close down soon because of coronavirus. With this all sports will be cancelled ruining my junior year. Should I join a club team
Will your school's lessons in spelling and punctuation be affected?
Just an anecdote here. The supply chain for vaccines was already tenuous before this outbreak. I've been waiting for months for the arrival of the second of two vaccines - Shingrx - at my CVS pharmacy in New York City to complete my vaccination against shingles, from which my mother suffered. This has to be administered within several months of the first shot.
And for your consideration, this: if the Democrat Party hadn't insisted for decades that US taxpayers funding the entities that slaughter innocent human beings via direct abortion (such as Planned Parenthood) is part of insuring health care, we would have more money for genuine health care.
Dude literally just go run some ultras.
You’ll have more fun and won’t be stuck in a pack of 50 other people for the entire race.
Yeah, lets give support to the guy who wants to give weed to big pharma. Seems like a better guy.

No we will be doing online schooling for the time being
The Coronavirus is a global problem that is agnostic of religion and politics. It is spreading across the world. Knowledge is one tool to fight it. Unfortunately, many countries are spreading misinformation. The US is no exception to this as political sides blame the other for something neither is responsible. Then there are agencies like the CDC and WHO who attempt to educate the public and work on a cure. Their message is being intercepted and distorted.
Blaming Planned Parenthood is a very weak argument. A quick search shows their annual budget is $1.3B, $530M from the federal government. Abortions are 3% of that, so about $20M from the government. This is NOT impacting the government's ability to do ANYTHING. For some perspective, Trump spends more than $1M federal dollars per day going to Mar-a- Lago NOT including the local government costs.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/how-much-time-trump-spending-trump-properties-n753366But even that has NO effect on Coronavirus spending. It is time for people to to wake up and smell the science and economics.

nbd, just stop trading with the US' largest trading partner in the world. Should work out fine economically

There are other countries we could trade with and, also we should start becoming more self-reliant as a nation it will be good for the economy and the people. Relying on other countries leaves us vulnerable.
FYI - Ivy League official recruiting visits scheduled for April and May were just officially "postponed' and coaches cannot travel via plane...
So does that mean vig, gibby, Dan Ireland will not be at NCAA indoors with their athletes..? Is this confirmed?
Wait a second? Are you also The430miler?

I would also suggest continuing to communicate with your coach and following his directions.
Depending on where you are in the country, you can find plenty of meets on any given weekend on DirectAthletics within a few hours of your location. You can also look at the results for those meets from previous years on TFRRS. I would say that you should be able to find something as long as you're sub 4:40 or 10:00 in the mile or two mile.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
