It will definitely be a race to remember. Stacked fields, good weather, keep the updates coming!

It rained for a few hours, skies should clear now and give way to a glorious morning, let's hope it won't get too windy or hot, 50F right now, 01 AM local time. Start is in 8 hours and 10 minutes!

Indeed. Deserted streets and volunteers in hazmat suits?
Beautiful morning in Japan, less than 2 hours until the start. Waiting to how fast the japanese will go out at.
Rupp's 2:09:20 was probably worth around 2:05 high in Tokyo today.
I'm sure there will be 10+ japanese out in suicide pace, so extremely excited. Sadly it appears to be quite warm..

Not started yet?
Wow this is a pretty favorable course with the downhill in the beginning ! Just below the max 42 meters it seems, smart organizers ! No other major does that.
They've already started. First 5k in 14:32
So 2:02:40 pace but the first 5k are downhill
Two groups at 5k, 14.32 and 14.39/40
Women at 5k in 16.27, it’s not Frankfurt pace
osako going with the africans for possibly a fast time, or to prove a point, while leaving shitara and co. in the second group
oh okay wrote:

Inoue is in the first group too. Second group very fast as well though
Pace has slowed a bit now that they're on flat ground and no longer downhill.
10k in 29:12 -> 2:02:15
Osako is going too fast, couldn't find his bottle !
ouch it seems osako missed his drink at the 5k station and had to get it from someone else, and both inoue and osako missed their 10 bottle. Anybody whos better at japanese please correct me if im wrong
