I doubt it. Her flat speed has been better than Coburn and freirichs for a few years and she never beats either of them.

It should be noted that the Diamond League has dropped the 5k and Steeple in favor of the 3k.
With these 3k times, these three women can now get into any Diamond League race they/Jerry choose.

So Schweizer beats a 3.54xx 1500 runner (who is also the American 5k record holder). Interesting. Apparently Houlihan needs a world championship race to show her true form.
I know you’re a tremendous jerk-off troll, but you seem to be implying Houlihan underperformed here to a suspicious degree. I feel like only an idiot would read this result that way, as Houlihan ran fine for February even for a 3:54 talent, and this represents a big breakthrough for Schweizer. Schweizer could now reasonably target 14:29.xx this summer.
So your rationale is that Houlihan ran well for this time of year. So what does that say about Schweizer? She, too, can run even faster as the season progresses? Schweizer is - so far- a 4.06 1500 runner, as against Houlihan's 3.54xx. What would you make of a 3.40 male runner taking out a sub 3.30 runner over 3k? Not a little surprising? Should we expect Schweizer to suddenly be dropping sub-4 over the 1500? Is she now a Laura Muir level of runner - because that's what it looks like after this race. Or is Houlihan no longer that level?
I would speculate that Karissa, right now, could run right around a 4-flat 1500. Her 4:08 at altitude a couple weeks back, and now this race, suggests so.
I very much doubt this will happen, but Jerry could enter her in both the 1500 & 5k at the Oly Trials . . . it certainly looks now like she is a lock to make the 5k team regardless.
One thing I've never seen mentioned about Karissa . . . has she ever been injured?
Not since joining BTC in 2018 that I am aware of, and didn't read about any injuries/illnesses her last couple years at MO when she got really good . . . after all those accumulated weeks/months of uninterrupted training & racing and . . . boom . . . two big prs in Doha last October and now spectacular performances this month.
Incredible race, very similar to the Kincaid, Lomong, Centro time trial last year.
8:25 is awfully good even for a 14:40s 5000m runner. Houlihan is in much better shape than last winter, and to have Quigley running 8:28 shows that she has sub 9 ability in the steeple because that's even faster than Simpson has run the flat 3k (8:29). I hope that they get a break before outdoors because they are awfully sharp for February.

If Quigley stays healthy and doesn’t get a DQ when it counts, she has legit shot. She wasn’t in the final at worlds when Coburn and Freirichs both medaled because she got DQed in the prelim and she had been right with Freirichs in workouts and races leading up to it. However, Freirichs has been able to stay healthy and Quigley has been injured pretty frequently over her time at BTC.
100%. I'm mesmerized by these performances. Remember a few summers back when we were treated to two of our greatest of all time, Shannon Rowbury and Jenny Simpson, racing in the fastest 3ks of all time and just breaking 8:30 to shock and awe us rightfully so. This is next level. And with Jenny having gone sub 15 already and not having raced anyone of note and ostensibly showing us she is in her best form ever, I can't even imagine what the trials and racing this summer is going to look like.
Let us also take note that the magic chemistry of the Bowerman Babes has culminated in this type of unprecedented event. Revealed is how running is so much more than miles, one foot in front of the other, lonesome fortitude = how we are strongest when we unify and push one another in the closest and most supportive of groups.
In theory you are right. But in practice it has never happened. Coburn has won how many straight national titles, 7 or 8? I cannot see quigley all of a sudden becoming the best in the country, not to mention the world, when she's never been close.
But I 100% find your homophobic finale to be abhorrent.
It is worthwhile to note that Schweizer's main rival in NCAA was....Elle Purrier. They are the new Shannon v. Jenny.
but now it is Jenny vs Shelby vs Ellie vs Karissa vs Colleen which shows you how ridiculous the current state of women's track and field is.

What's there to report? BTC women running against BTC women. I mean, it's awesome that they're fast but i wish they'd run against more competition than just themselves...
This is just like that silly men's 5000m at Nike last fall.
Totally agree! Both were f@$#ing awesome!
If she stays relatively injury free Karissa will be an all time great for US distance running. Only two years at the pro level and she's been phenomenal. How long was Shelby a pro before she got this good? It's just always nice to see when someone like this or Klosterhalfen comes along, a pro that will try to run you into the ground. We've been fatigued with garbage sit and kicks for too long.

What sit and kicks? Have you watched any of the women's USATF races outdoor? They are rarely sit and kick
One is a 3000m specialist,
One is exactly between her two events,
The third set an AR better than all-but-Ethiopians.
And, Jerry often wants his runners to run some really good races at the distance below their main event. But you knew all those things, didn't because you really keep on with the sport...

I find it hard to believe that people aren't agog over these times no matter when and where they were achieved. This is like three Americans running close to 7:29-7:32 in the same race. Instead, bicker you must, and everything has to spiral into insults. I hope your dicks are smashed flat in industrial mishaps so you can't impregnate anyone, anytime, anywhere. Not to sound like a queer, or anything.
bbbrrrrREEEHHHCK!!!
Some of us are agog over these performances. But perhaps not for the same reason you are.

So you are picking that she's at least 6 seconds better than her previous best 1500 time. That's a massive improvement. Her pr is 4.06, and yet her latest 3k time is two 4.12xx run back to back. Her 8.25 is 16secs better than her previous pr over 3k. How does an already highly-trained athlete make off-the-charts improvements like that?
By not being a whiny, accusatory, board-trolling betch?
Then everybody should be improving by the same amount. But they aren't. Try again.

They ran pretty close in their last two years of cross country. They only raced four times, twice at Nationals and twice at the Adidas Pre-Nationals. Schweizer beat Purrier both years at Nationals. The year Schweizer won, Purrier was 15 seconds back; the next year, she was 6 seconds back. They split at Pre-Nationals, finishing within a second or so of each other; Schweizer finished second the year Purrier won.
On the track, weren't rivals since they never raced. Schweizer won 5 NCAA titles on the track and one in cross country. Purrier won one title on the track.
