Not really "great advice" for young runners.
The most important thing is that he only took 1 day off after XC Nats. Always funny to see people taking full 2 weeks off and wonder why it takes them around 2 months just to get back to where they previously were.
But the only other tip was "keep going when it feels hard", even HS kids don't need someone to tell them that.
Nico Young is a younger runner.
I'm sorry.
Are you implying that 2-weeks of no running sets an athlete back 2 months in terms of their physiology?

Nonsense on the 2 weeks off thing.

That's not "nonsense". I wouldn't say it sets you back 2 months, but compared to one or two days off, you're definitely at a disadvantage. You only need two weeks if you're mentally drained or injured.
Just to add some formal reading for folks about detraining:

Here is a pretty good summarized article about the cardiovascular effects after a sustained period of "detraining".

It depends on the kid, I have definitely seen taking 2 weeks off have huge consequences. Specifically the kids who seem to instantly gain 10 lbs with just a little bit of time off. I've also seen guys take a few weeks off, lose a bit of fitness and coordination, start training again only to be injured shortly after. Two weeks off is for professional runners who are training year round, not for kids who don't even run on their own over the weekend.
